Cool! Keep us updated on the progress. It would be great to have a Russian translation.

If you guys need a Serbian translation, let me know. I study "Translation Techniques" at my college, so I should be pretty good at it.

Every translation of any language is welcome.
I hope you know how much work it is I have worked on the German translation too with many other guys.

Don't expect multilingual support in the next release unless you want me to delay for an unknown amount of time.
I'm voting for an immediate releasing of the english version, right after you are done with it, killap.
Like the great Hakunin says:
"We have little left in both time and essence. Hurry. Hurry... " :lalala:

I second Valcik's motion. Quick release of fixes and updates in English. Keep working on translations and get them right. You might consider releasing language support in batches. For example, whenever you have 3 languages done, you can include them in an future update (the beginning of RP 2.2?). Then, later, include 3 more in another update, and so on.

I assumed the public wants an immediate release, but I just threw that idea out there.

@everyone
If you want to follow the progress of the upcoming release, just head over to the RP bug wiki and watch as each section gets comments/confirmations from me. I'm currently up to New Reno. The way things are looking, I think a January release is still possible, though it won't be the first week of it. If anyone can comment on the unconfirmed bugs that would be great!

@killap
About the Broken Hills ending, on the wiki you said I didn't tell Marcus about Dr. Henry's intentions. Is this a new additional quest in RP 2.x?

And I've recruit him before telling him about Dr. Henry, thus all related dialogs are gone and this "quest" is uncompletable. :?

i just hope you dont forget everything that was posted here, mainly the changes in the installer to prevent the installation of RP/Patch in the program files folder on Windows Vista, 2008, 7. ;)

I responded on the Wiki to your comment regarding the Gecko Percy money issue, but re-posting here in case you missed it:

(I presume it is a bug because you can make an infinite amount of money by selling and buying back the same item over and over again. If I sell him a stimpack for 200 and buy it back for 100, I just made 100. Do it 10 times and I'm up 1000. Percy should at least buy and sell an item for the same value)

It's not really a new quest, but an addition. I opened up unused dialogue in regards to Dr. Henry and his testing on mutants. I'm pretty certain this isn't the only way to get the best ending for Broken Hills though.

Yeah, once he's recruited you can't do anything about his quests.

The program files check is already in place for the new installer. It seems to work just fine, though I can't be 100% certain without testing on those systems. Still, I'm 99% certain it works correctly. I probably should go through this thread and see if there are some posts not on the wiki. I do recall seeing 1-2 comments by Darek that I need to incorporate.

Ah, I see your point. Hmm, well this type of exploit should also happen to other NPCs who give you such a barter discount. I'm not sure what to do about this unless I remove the discount entirely.

I love seeing all those "Fixed in unreleased update" posts. Rock on.

Uh, that's why I report the "bug" on the wiki: I've helped to put the mutant haters in jail, found missing people, and fixed the mine, but I still can't get the best ending for Broken Hills... or must I have also report Marcus about Dr. Henry? Did I miss something?

vic won't equip a weapon with CA Mk2.

i hate to bother you with this, but when i started getting power armor in san fran, i passed the combat armor mk2 down to vic and he put it on with a weapon equipped. when i got my first random encounter he wouldn't fight and i checked his gear and no weapon equipped. when i put the bridgekeeper robes back on him he would let me reequip his .223 pistol after his toon donned the robes. same thing with power armor. he just would not equip a weapon with combat armor on. i tried to post on the wiki site but i'm not very web savy.

It's because Vic character model has no animation for some of the weapons. But when he has power armor, or the robes, he has players character model, which has ALL of the animations. Thats why he can use all weapons in PA or robes...

NovaRain,
I'm pretty sure I have got the best ending for Broken Hills, in my last playthrough.
(All quests for Marcus were completed, the air purifier repaired, uranium ore refined and the mutant haters Jacob and Eileen imprisoned.)

.. I still can't get the best ending ..
Just for sure: what "best" ending do you expect?
There are three possible endings for the Broken Hills, but alas, all of them are despairing:

[spoiler:13877a149b]A:
1:The destruction of the mutants ensured the death of the town.
2:Without their strength and ability to withstand the toxins within the mine, the valuable ore proved unattainable.
3:Those who caused this destruction rejoiced at first… until they realized the foolishness of what they had done.
4:They struggled to keep the community flourishing, but to no avail.
5:The winds and the waste scoured Broken Hills from the map.

B:
1:With the destruction of the conspiracy to destroy the mutants, Broken Hills began to thrive.
2:Then the uranium ran out.
3:The city, having lost its sole reason for existing, slowly dispersed.
4:The residents carried their riches with them, leaving the place a wind-swept, desolate ghost town.
5:A few hold-outs remained, attempting to eke out a pathetic existence, but eventually, they too, disappeared.

C:
1:Shortly after your last departure, the powder keg of racial tension in Broken Hills exploded.
2:Racist humans fought against mutants, ghouls, and humans who had sided with the mutants.
3:The few survivors of the battle destroyed the mine, ensuring no one else could profit by it, and disappeared into the wastes.

Note, that the line 2 in the C variant is modified by the RP. That seems to be an one and only change, compare to the vanilla game:
2:Racist humans fought against mutants, ghouls, and humans who sided with the mutants.
[/spoiler:13877a149b]
I think, the variant "B" is the best possible; and that's what I was got. Damn, even the poor treasure hunter was forgotten in the dark, for an eternity! :)

Yes, the "best" ending I mean is the variant "B" (I got the variant "C"). I've uploaded my save on the RP bug wiki. I've done all quests for Marcus and also refined the uranium ore, but on the wiki killap said I didn't tell Marcus about Dr. Henry. That's why I asked if reporting Dr. Henry's intentions has something to do with the best ending in RP 2.1.2b. :?

But in the above post he said that isn't the only way to get the best ending for Broken Hills... What did I missed, then? Or is some quest variable in my save got screwed up? :?

Guess I should replay the whole RP when the new update released...

Ah, I have checked your savegame and I see the culprit:
You have completed one of the "evil dark side" quests; two imprisoned convicts were liberated by your Chosen One. That's why you have got the "C" (racial tension exploded) ending.

Yes, but do not use that terrible "skill and SPECIAL boost" cheat again, dude! :P

edit:
..also, the uranium ore does not need to be refined for the best ending. I did it, but it's not necessary.

That's strange, I didn't break the prison. You can use my save and go back to Broken Hills, they're still here. After I heard about Jacob's plan, I turned down the offer and turn them in.

Hm, you are right. Damn, it's a mystery.
I'm sorry, I don't have any other ideas for now.

valcik, how did you verify he broke the prisoners out? Did you check the global vars of the save game? In any event, there was a bug where if you lock picked (and failed) any of the locked doors of the other prison (the one with the lone super mutant) it would trigger the jail break quest. I thought this was fixed in 2.1.2b but either way, it is definitely fixed in the upcoming release.

The reason I mentioned Dr. Henry is that I saw you had his quest (i.e. learned about his intent with mutants) and had the option to tell Marcus about it. You didn't in that save game. I don't believe it is required to deal with Dr. Henry to get the best Broken Hills ending (i.e skip Dr. Henry entirely), but it might actually be required to tell Marcus once you do start the Dr. Henry questline. I'd have to double check this though.

Really, I'd suggest another playthrough to solve this dilemma. :)
