Its been about 2-3 years since I played the Restoration Project. Looking forward to booting it up again this week and seeing whats changed.

Poking back in so you all know I'm still alive. ;)

NovaRain's been hard at work testing the next release and it doesn't look like many issues were found. And I think he only has 3 or so locations left to go through.

So hopefully a release will happen in the next few weeks. At least that's what I'll keep saying until it happens. :cool:

My family's going on vacation to Alaska for two weeks on the 31st. No internet, middle of nowhere... All I'll have for late night entertainment is my trusty laptop, Fallout 2, and the Restoration Project. There's simply no way to thank you guys enough for your work on this, but please know that we fans are grateful.

Nice to know but what about wikia? No change was done there regarding bug fixing.

Having a problem running RP 2.3.2 on Windows 8. Compatibility issues. Any and all answers help. I miss this game!
@killap

I guess I should be more specific. I am running Fallout 2 Version 1.02, installed RP 2.3.2 on Windows 8. If i try to run it, I get an error message saying "failure initializing input devices". If i try to correct it, I get "appears to be running in compatibility mode", and then it goes full circle to the previous error. Please help.

NovaRain is done testing and I've gone through his reports. I also went through the wiki and addressed the issues that could be fixed.

So, the next release is ever imminent, but I don't know when exactly. :P

OMG i completely agree. I have a laptop that is meant for business and not pleasure. There are few games that i can play on it. I'm limited to turn based games and FO2 has been my life saver on many occasions. Being stuck in the norther Maine woods with no internet is torture for 2 weeks straight. there is only so much fishing/hiking/canoeing i can handle before i leave my post apocalypse reality for my virtual post apocalypse video game lol

Thank you killap and everyone else for this great restoration project. The unofficial patches were great alone, but you took them to a higher level :-)

Will 2.3.3 be the last update? I hope there will be more updates. :D (Sorry if there are grammar issues, my english is pretty bad.)

I wouldn't say it is unplayable, but I wait to start new game until there is update available.

is it unplayable or anything? Is it an update necessary? I plan to get this that's why i ask.
It's not that it's bad in the current state, but Killap is always teasing us with the updates which according to him "should be out in a couple of weeks" and at least some of us trust him and wait for the next update. Unfortunately, weeks turn into months, then half a year or more passes until the actual update is released. If he doesn't have the will to work on this mod anymore, he should just say so and be done with it instead of coming with all the excuses for being late few months. I think it might be better for everyone. [And yes, I do appreciate his work and think it's an awesome mod.]
