.. bears don't count the long periods while they're sleeping, only the short time when they're awaken! That's killap, our beloved sleepy grizzly!

is it unplayable or anything? Is it an update necessary? I plan to get this that's why i ask.
It's not that it's bad in the current state, but Killap is always teasing us with the updates which according to him "should be out in a couple of weeks" and at least some of us trust him and wait for the next update. Unfortunately, weeks turn into months, then half a year or more passes until the actual update is released. If he doesn't have the will to work on this mod anymore, he should just say so and be done with it instead of coming with all the excuses for being late few months. I think it might be better for everyone. [And yes, I do appreciate his work and think it's an awesome mod.]

I understand what you mean :P it can be a pain to plan to start the game from start and decide to wait for that planned update in 1 week for the mod, you wait, it doesn't come, you wait some more still doesn't xD might as well have played the game but the time have passed. But it's a great mod and Killape's work is much appreciated =D

Remember ppl, this will be "probably" the last update by killap, others will continue to work on his mod.

I am very impressed with killaps work. and lets not forget that he does thls as a hobby not a job. If he is a bit late or even a lot late (:p) I don't mind being patient and waiting. At worst I'd just suggest stop giving a solid release timeframe for the update release. As fun as Fallout 2 is, and as awesome as Bear Dudes mod is, life does have to come first :(

I do look forward to the next update and if it is Killaps last, I will honestly be very sad. You have done fine work Killap and I am sure all of NMA loves you for it :)

Anyone know if the recent patch on Steam impacts installation or playability of the Restoration Project? There's now an "HD" version that automatically includes the Hi-Res patch.

It broke my installation to pieces :irked:

Yeah, I've heard reports of this. I'll be taking a look soon.

@hakimio: You're right in your quoted comment further up this page. The problem is I can't let go (though I want to), hence the updates dragging on. But you have to understand that I've been modding this for over 8 years and the state of the RP is more than complete. I just keep polishing it with each update.

Anyway, I do need to get this next release out and apparently the Steam update causing chaos will be a further incentive to do so.

When I installed RP, back when steam version wasn't updated, it worked fine. When I tried to run it a month or two ago, I got this error EmLHj9Q[1].png after intro movies. Now I completely reinstalled F2 after steam update and it worked fine, but with RP on top of it I get this error again.

Steam is over-writing RP ddraw.ini. I pulled the appropriate one out of the manual install (didn't want to erase my Miria mod running the installer), and all seems to be fine now.

P.S. Killap, been playing the RP for years, and I just want to thank you again. It's the only thing keeping FO2 interesting.

So you get this upon launching the game?

What happens if you do a fresh install of Fallout 2 (let it fully update), then right click the icon from your game list, choose "Properties", "Updates" and then under the automatic update section setting it to "Do not automatically update" After that, reinstall the RP.

I do want to add that as far as I can tell, the RP and UP are fully compatible with the latest Steam update. I've also been in contact with Bethesda and so far everything does seem to be in order. If you are having problems, just make sure that you let Steam fully update and then reinstall the RP (using the installer, NOT the manual route). Reinstalling the RP is key.

OT: Anyone else has this old killap's post occupy top half of each thread's page? Is that a bug I should report to NMA?

Well, Killap, I finally bought a new laptop and I'm finally going to try out your RP. Can't wait to get home and have a go at it.
