Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

Goris is a deathclaw, his hide is tough as leather armor, I wouldn't worry about making armor for him, let alone rebuilding his animations. Marcus got done because the animations already existed.
While he does remove his robe whenever he fights, I imagine that robes are the type armor that he wears.

I wanted to post this here because I was not sure if this was from the restoration project for fallout 2 I had installed. When I am in broken hills, I completed the skimming quest with chad and fixed up the air purifier. I made the mistake of asking Marcus to follow me, and now I can't complete the missing persons quest. I only can tell Marcus I want to tell him something, do I have to meet someone else to give me the quest now? Is there anyway to finish the quest without having to start the game over again? I don't have a save before I asked Marcus to join me.

Probably this is a known issue but I cant see a fix for it. My mouse locks so I'm forced to scroll all the way up or down left or right. When this happens if I go into Char it is constantly cycling thru stats at a high speed. If I quit and exit the game and restart it fixes for a while.This happens all the time so it's making the game unplayable.

If someone can point me to a fix that'd be much appreciated.

XD

A man can dream damnit!

I mean, he's about as tough as combat armour, but I find he gets 'two round killed' by a single enclave dude with a plasma rifle, makes it irritating to keep him alive, even with a full party of dudes.

Does anyone know how to reinstate the following command lines in the RP sfall ddraw.ini?

;Set to 1 to enable Ray's patch to make world map encounter rate independent of your travel speed
WorldMapEncounterFix=0
WorldMapEncounterRate=6

Would like to get some more direct control over encounter rate back without having to change map movement to crazy speeds.

Cheers

Why not just edit worldmap.txt to change encounter frequency percentages?

If you really want to use the two options, change WorldMapFPSPatch to 0, add following lines in [Misc] section of ddraw.ini and set their values (might require some trial and error):
Code:
;This will change the physical speed at which you move across the map
;Set to 0 to leave at the default. (i.e. limited by vwait in windowed mode, or by processor speed in fullscreen)
;If set to something other than 0, it enforces a maximum fps on the world map screen.
;Changing this to something other than 0 is not recommended if you've already applied a world map speed patch to your Fallout exe.
WorldMapFPS=0

;Only set to 1 if your systems high performance timer is unreliable for some reason
ForceLowResolutionTimer=0

;Set to 1 to enable Ray's patch to make world map encounter rate independent of your travel speed
WorldMapEncounterFix=0
WorldMapEncounterRate=6

;Obsolete, but can still be used if you know what it does.
;WorldMapDelay=0

Thanks Nova that was super helpful did exactly what I wanted!

On a side note, making changes to the worldmap.txt didn't have much impact on the actual game for me even with extreme values.

I'm having some trouble at the Abbey. I'm trying to get brother Jason to let me escort him to Gecko. I fullfill all the requirements for this quest like having been to Gecko. But come what my, even will all my stats maxed out with an editor he just says his racist crap about the ghouls and refuses to be escorted there. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Do your character know Wooz plays Tragic the Garnering? Judging from Jason's dialogue, he agrees to be escorted only if he knows there's another Tragic player in Gecko.

Is there a known issue with the Hubologist luck reward/penalty in NCR? I've taken the zeta-scan well over a dozen times and my luck has gone neither up nor down. I figured it was an issue with the fact that I had the lowest luck stat possible at 2 (with the Gifted trait), so it couldn't go any lower. But after obtaining the Gain Luck perk, it's still unresponsive at Lvl 3. What gives?

Also, a few small issues for your info:

-When I load a hunting rifle, your inventory arbitrarily becomes two pounds heavier.

-If I'm overburdened and try to hand off items to my party members, it tells ME that I can't carry that much.

-I've noticed that the banter between Sulik and Vic is missing.

Finally got around to check Sulik's spear/power armor animation, it reacts in the same way as for Cassidy's spear/power armor combo, as in changing to a standard power armor look instead of their unique models. Edited my original report to cover Sulik's armour as well under Misc.

Something else I noticed was the fact that Keeng Ra'at used a taunt involving the hairstyle of my character, nice touch.:clap:

To above poster: The hunting rifle was empty when you reloaded it, right? When loaded into the rifle, the ammunition inside counts as a new unit of ammunition, thus increasing the weight. Exact reasoning behind this mechanic I don't entirely know

As for the overburdened issue, it goes after how much you have in your inventory and what your max capacity is. If you exceed the weight limit, you will get that message. Same if you have several hundred pounds of overweight, and your companion can only carry so much, it still says you can only carry so much even after a possible trade since you'd still be overweight.

I hope this was helpful.

Can I get the plates even if I have paid for the car and been travelling around?

I heard it was due to a bug/script issues which caused it to be unobtainable until you beat the game, and then get your car stolen.

Is this still true? Or can I just beat the game, then buy it?

Hello.
Looking for how to solve two problems
1. Some children in Klamath and The Den looks like Mr.Handy robot.

2. When put armor on party their image changes not actualy to armor type.
- Sulik looks like girl in leather jacket. Wears Combat Armor.
- Vic llooks like in combat armor, but wears leather jacket.

How to solve this problems?

UPDt
PROBLEM WAS SOLVED BY FULLY REINSTALLING.
Thanx evrbdy

Found a odd fix for the den black screen problem.
Move denbus1.map out of data/Maps, goto the den and it works, save the game and exit. Move the file back and load the savegame and everything works fine including exiting and entering the den. Something in the map file causes problems on the first entry it seems.

While it may make the map playable it does not fix the problem. What is happening is that you are playing with the old map and the new one is never used. The first time you enter a map that whole map file gets saved into your save game slot, and it never reads from the map file in the map folder again. I can't remember what has been changed but it's probably nothing major, so for now your workaround is probably the way to go.

and now the same problem with umbra, tried reinstalling rp and making sure the proto files are read only but does not help.... could this be a problem with wine?

EDIT: no nvm tested in vmware with winxp now, same result.... which map file is umbra's?
