Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2 Restoration Project Discussion (ideas/suggestions)

Heh, wow I'm glad there is excitement for this. Makes me happy to know that the time I put into this will be put to use.

Well, I believe I am done with all coding and major testing. There are probably issues but that's the nature of these things. 8-) It's honestly pretty well tested and there hopefully shouldn't be any major issues. But then again you guys always seem to find crazy ways to break stuff. :) ;)

All I need to do now is to finish up the documentation and list of new fixes/additions, then one last quick test to make sure there are no major map crashes. This is Friday's task since it is past 3:30 am right now and I need to get some sleep. It's been a hectic week with real life work and all the Fallout work I have done. Depending on how everything goes tomorrow there just might be a Friday release. But, let's not jinx things and just say Sunday. That way if it comes earlier consider it a treat. :D

Oh, and just as a heads up there will be a new thread created when the Pack is released. This thread will remain to discuss expansion content ideas, etc. The new thread will be about the release and bugs/concerns with it.

Heh, I just can't wait to play it and post any issue I'll find, but this time it won't be probably as often as the last time since things in my education have complicated a bit :x . But sooner or later I will get to it seriously.

I hope you have a high bandwidth. Else we will have to figure out some kind of download schedule, cause this one's going to bung up everything.

Who volunteers to be the number taker?

Bandwidth shouldn't be a major concern. My host is pretty good about this. The download file should be about 22 MB (extracting to over 100 MB) so those still on 56k...sorry. :D

Still working on things so no release today, *yet.* :)

I just hope its less like the one in Atomic Gamer, it sometimes disconnects for me and is there a zip version of the install like your Patcher?

The host is the one I use in my sig. You can usually get over 200k a sec when downloading from them. I haven't had any problems with them yet.

The expansion will come as both a manual install (.rar) and an automatic install (installer)

Oooh thats a relief, Lately I have been having problems with the Installer, So...by Sunday it should be up & ready?

Can you elaborate? What problems are you having? What OS are you running?

Lately my PC has been problems after the Before the Clock Struck 12:00, the fireworks were set off then I couldn't start my PC everything was slowing down, so my Big Sis who is a Computer Engineer changed some stuff in the start-up of my PC(Windows XP Professional UnGenuine Edition) now when I try to run the Killap Patch I get somethin like, Cannot access tmp file or something like that, I used the .rar file which still works anyway I'm back but a litte buggy

  cant wait for the release, i guess ill have to finish my fallout1 session tomorow in a hurry before i start this one again :)

I've been OCD'ing these forums too in anticipation of this.
Being someone who is a sucker for DVD's that are extended/directors cuts of my favorite movies, to see an expanded version of one of all my all time best games ever on the verge of release, this is just too good for words.
Bring on Fallout 2:Redux.
Oh yeah!
:-)

The Restoration Pack is separate from my patch but includes all the fixes that come with my patch.

As for the Sulik sister text line, that was probably one of the lines already included by the devs. Like I said the Restoration Pack brings all the lost content back into Fallout. The devs originally planned for Sulik's sister to be there and that is why some dialogue can already be found in the original game.
