Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

So let me get this straight, besides the stuff from the 'unofficial patch' (Like that horrible Cassidy head, just horrible! THEY RUINED CASSIDY!!!) It's all meant to be unused scripts and maps from Interplay?

I have to agree. The Cassidy head looks like it was forced through a graphical woodchipper.

Also, yeah, I do believe this is all official content or content that was built off of blueprints left in the game itself. It all adds a new level of depth to the Fallout universe as a whole, and I hold this restoration to be the true version of events. Also, Han shot first.

Okay, back to one fo my previous questions: how in the world you heal Fanny Mae?
I have the antidote, but no dialogue to give it to her. If I plainly use it on her, nothing happens.
As I've mentioned I play a female toon, so her only remarks are that I should work hard as a, well, you know:D

Where's EPA? Feels like I've been all over the map, pretty much only have the tanker left to do. Tried figuring out what EPA stood for as a clue, but closest I got was Eastern PlaguelAnds

EPA is located by talking to travelers who give you directions in random encounters. Should come up as Unknown Government Building/Facility or something when the directions are offered.

Environmental Protection agency. You learn the location either from random travelers or from Myron when you tell him to leave your party.

when I used the antidote on her I got some exp and she told me to talk to her later. after a few days when I managed to talk to her nothing changed. she just keeps asking for money

The extras found in the installer (not selected by default mind you) are other mods I was kind enough to make compatible with my expansion to enhance the gaming experience. If you don't like them, you don't have to use them. Personally, I think the Cassidy head looks quite nice and is probably one of the most well made static talking heads created since the ones in the original game. None of these extras are from my unofficial patch. That patch is strictly bug fixes.

The rest of the stuff is either me completing partially made scripts from the original devs or making new scripts and bringing to life the ideas/concepts that were originally intended to be there. There are also some things here and there that are my personal creation only done to smooth out and make more complete what was originally intended.

I have encountered a traveler who tells me of a 'small, abandoned mine', yet when I go to my worldmap there is nothing there! I manually scanned the whole thing.

That is the Military base I believe, not the EPA. Look to the lower part of the map (where the Milt base always was); it should be there.

Holograms again

Is there some way to deal with the ever discussing holograms in the EPA? There some magnetic source thats connected to them. But I cant find any solution to the problem.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't the EPA, The Traveler already told me about that, but why would the traveler refer to it as a mine?.... peculiar

But now I come to think of it, the traveler did mention something about a lot of dogs around the area, as their are when you first go to Military Base... Thanks for clearing that up.

btw, Was I meant to Patch Fallout 2 to US 1.2 before I install the Restoration mod? Because that might have something to do with the EPA crashing for me.

It's pretty weird that you can ask a traveler for a "small abandoned mine", as i remember the Choosen One doesn't know anything about the Military Base, so how can he ask for it in such a way? He should ask maybe for "a gold mine", and get the location of military base or somthing like that.

It's not your character asking the Traveler, it's the Traveler telling YOU, you just get to choose what she tells you about.

No, no. The Traveler asks you "are you in need of directions" or something like that, and then you can ask about "a small abandoned mine", then she's telling you about a mine that she left becouse of dogs. I think it went like that.

I wonder, is there a lighter to be found anywhere in the Abbey area?

hmm... I think not, but then again I might have missed it

question: is there something I can do to prevent the ugly fate of the person I recovered from the cryo-tank in EPA

You also must save Sulik's sister.
My suggestion is as following: make a trip to NCR. Enter the city, talk to deputy Karl, talk to Elise, free the slaves outside NCR(science skill at 85), get the quest to eliminate the slaver camp(don't bring the rangers with you). Exterminate the slaver's camp(I hope you've got the location from metzger before killing the bastard).
Get back with Sulik's sister at the primitive tribe. talk with the guy who gave you the quest to bring the knifes and the spears. talk with the guy guarding the cave. Rush to save the warrior, heal the warrior's leg(hopefully you have around 70 Doctor skill). Report back. Quest completed.
Never got the broc and xander quest, but I'm idolized after doing all that, minus borc and xander.

Can I do this w/o going to NCR 1st?
Can I do this w/o going to the primitive tribe 1st since it's on the way to the tribe? I hate slavers so I will going to take them out and free the slaves.

It may be a tough fight. So let's assume it can be done with low-level characters.

Thanks for the help.

The whole reasons of talking with NCR Rangers to get help fighting the slaver camp is your low level. but when you get to NCR you are quite strong yourself so that reason is no more... Pooh! quite a dilemma.

About EPA tanks:

I notice the cryo tanks but I havent found a way to rescue the girl. Even after talking with the Scientist about Cryo tank I still couldnt... Hmm

I see. So it's still a small possibility to take on the slaver camp early on then. Hoping for massive critical hit...

Just note that your car will be left in NCR if you ask ranger backup so it'll be long walk back. Also for me at least the rangers did not count the quest as complete after I took the rangers with me and raided the camp(they were useless though). Maybe bug or random clitch who knows.

Has anyone gotten into following rooms in EPA :

Presidents room (next to electric chair room and conferense room with long table and world map on wall (war room?))
The garden room (was it 3rd floor)
Animal holing cells next to garden room.
The room with a beeping computer (that I asume has way to cure the sick man in New Reno)

Also has anyone been able to wake the two people in cryostasis? (the computer does nothing for me)

Has anyone managed to fix the primitive tribe well and if yes, how exactly did you do it (for me I can shove million ropes in there without it registering it and cant attach the bucket, it has no use on nor does nothing used from inventory)?
