Fallout 2 The Last Hope 1.04 Released

I think its a bit strange that we have three TCs being made at this moment, instead of, I dunno, a super-TC made by a big group of mapmakers and artists.

SD2 is also in the works. And no, I have no plans in making it as short as SD1.

Also it is clear that we don't have one big mod in the works- everybody wants to realise his own ideas.

thank you Forgotten Knight for this mode.... :notworthy: congrats for finishing it...  .... one man team or not is not too easy to finish a big project working only in free time.... great job :ok:.... looking forward to play it

Yip. Part of me thinks that's a shame, but it is what it is, and we do get a wide variety of games. I mean, some people even like Haris' TC mods...

I wish I had more time to play this right now, because I really like it. The opening testing grounds, while a bit combat-heavy (you can sneak good parts of it too, tho') is exactly what the temple of trials should have been; not just a slog but fun classic-style puzzles for a variety of skillsets.

Hmm ... So much of new stuff showed up. I didn't have a chance to check out on any of these TC's yet and I have limited time for games really. I know it's all down to personal preferences but ... any advice which TC would be the most worthwhile?

Anyway I prefer that to bad dialogs written in perfect english.
I second that! Moira comes to mind... <shudder>
It's a big effort to write something in a language other than yours, if not both habituated to do it and are fluent in it.

@ eternaut: my god! is that really you Juan? Juan Salvo? Have you finally found your wife and daughter?

LOL!
I wish! This messy death-snow is driving me nuts! Then there's the Manos, the Gurbos... jeez...

You know your stuff! Can you read spanish? Or you got a translated version?

Cheers!

Forgotten Knight, if you are reading this let me congrat you on such a great work. Creating maps, story, scripts... even new artwork all on your own, gigantic workload. looking forward. playing your TC, haven't found the time yet. I also stopped by yor site and it has some good tutorials, seriously man, GOOD job.

hehe, yeah, well Oesterheld was a countryman of mine, so I know spanish. Great comic, too bad the sequels are subpar.

Thanks to all of you who appreciate others hard work. I really like it the way it is, simple language understandable to most, funny to arrogant ones... The point is, i could have spent even five years on this mod but it ain't gonna get perfect as you all want. To me, it's more important to finish something then leave it hanging for years until time consumes it. Hey, i would be happy if someone with a good english knowledge helps me to "translate" this into something readable, any volunteers?
Respect for the :nuclear: community :notworthy:, thanks for playing!

I'm awful with installing mods... it's downloaded, but i'm not sure it's installed correctly. Anyone help with any tips? The websites not exactly brilliant for that.

See readme file inside .rar. Or rename Fallout2\data folder , rename Fallout2.exe, rename patch000.dat if there are any, urar content to your ...BlackIsle\Fallout2\ folder... May i ask, which website have you visited for this purpose?

I have no idea... i'm simple when it comes to all this computering. I just punch keys and pray for the best. I know i clicked something to get to the website, but more than that i do not know. But much appreciation for the help :)

I might offer to help out with cleaning up the writing.

I should probably try out the bloody thing first, though.

Thanks, i already asked someone to help me with this. This should be no problem for one person, right? I just don't know how much hours of work is required to get this done. But i'm glad i can count on you folks!

Great work Forgotten Knight! I'm playing it for the past few days and I get the same feeling as when I replay F1. Sure, my choice of character (low endurance, sucks at melee and unarmed) made the beginning quite difficult, but isn't that what's Fallout all about? Struggling through the unfriendly desert :P

The game's quite buggy, which is understandable, so my question is: are you interested in concise bug reports, or are you just celebrating that the whole big thing is finally done?

Congrats one more time on finishing this gem. I'm enjoying it very much :-)

Looking forward to playin it! Would you like any reports on found bugs? (I plan on devoting the latter part of the week to this mod.)

The guard won't open the laser gate for me no matter how many times i ask him to and i cant open it myself. Is there something im missing?

Did you complete the quest, investigating the prisoners escaping?

The lasers only down for a split second, you gotta pounce on it. Took me a couple times to actually see it go down. Fun gameplay, has anyone tried a non combat character yet? (The game seems to be very combat oriented)
