Fun gameplay, has anyone tried a non combat character yet? (The game seems to be very combat oriented)

Tried and died. Slight SPOILERS: Note that the initial area (underground testing) is radiated so don't try to use your First Aid skill or you'll soon die. Someone should see if you can use Sneak to get past the ants and the scorpions.

Also, there may have been an error from my Fallout 2 installation, but I experienced an error where when a female character is given the knife, she won't be able to use it and will turn invisible and the game quickly crashes. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! Exactly the same thing happened to me. My character became invisible and as soon as I was hit, the game crashed... I had to finish that part using kicks and punches again...

Can someone help me? I don't know what is wrong with my game, after a few days that i installed and played LH mod, something strange happende when I was gonna play the original Fallout 2. The LH mod loading text showed up and the LH start menu showed up instead of the original FO2. My saves are still there but i can't play at those saves or else the game crashes. I've unistalled FO2 many times but the problem is still there. I've removed the LH mod from the Fallout 2 directory, but it's still fucked up. Can someone help me please? I'm desperate and i just wanna play my favourite game again.

Female char errors are engine bug, has nothing to do with this mod. That's the main reason i didn't put any female chars and had to change male start char to nmwarr which has knife animation but again doesn't have climb animation.

DjDude, did you remove lhdat.dat, ddraw.dll, ddraw.ini, data folder? There's LH mod topic on general modding. You should post your question there, where i usually give answers.

TapLup, it depends on how much time you spend on finding bugs. Seriously, you can finish it within a day, if you know what you're looking for.

Eh, I am experiencing more frustration than enjoyment. I find it far too combat-heavy (the first robed man that I had to fight took nearly 10 minutes and all of my healing supplies). I nearly gave up when he handed me the knife and said "here, fight me *again*!" But what did it for me was the room with all the traps...despite having tagged "traps" and having 7 PE, I consistently missed spotting the traps and blew myself up...and when I did spot them it took more attempts to disarm than I had patience for .

Congrats on the mod though, glad to have something totally new to try

Im in second location and i dont know what to do. I dont have dynamit to blow up rocks to get in to the door.

M4K, you are in the mine? Don't worry when you find Farmers town you'll have some dynamites there but use them wisely because in current version shopkeepers do not restock their dynamites.

The lasers only down for a split second, you gotta pounce on it. Took me a couple times to actually see it go down.

Can you be more specific please. I tried million times but still cant get through. I can't even see laser fence going down(even for the split of the second)

Anyway I prefer that to bad dialogs written in perfect english.

I second that! Moira comes to mind... <shudder>

It's funny, but I've always thought that Moira was the only *good* character in that game. She was annoying as all hell, steeped in accidental Palin irony, and her Quest doesn't make sense if you think about it for five seconds - but as far as gameplay mechanics go, your stats actually mattered, you had interesting dialogue options, and her reactions were consistent and believable.

If more character had been like her I might have finished the game - mini-nuclear bombs or not.
