The Bethesda Blog reminds us of the DLC/GotY Edition release schedule that we already wrote about.
Wanted to let everyone know (particularly those playing Fallout 3 without online access to DLC) that the second Fallout 3 Game Add-On Pack — featuring Broken Steel and Point Lookout — will be available in North America on August 25th on both Games for Windows and Xbox 360.
In the rest of the world the preliminary release date is Aug 28 because it takes three days to bake the cobras.

why dont they offer ALL DLCs now and just this 2?

~Its also nice from Bethesda to provide the DLCs to those people that have no fast internet conection and attach the full game Fallout 3 on it regardless of people bought it already or not which I am sure will still cost a full price since its a "Goty" edition even if the core game is already out for how long 8 or 9 months ?

Money, money, money, yay.

The last one, Mothership Zeta is only included in the Fallout 3 GOTY edition I think.

But honestly, no one will miss that piece of crap.

The answer is simple, maximize profits. It's what they are all about, obviously. They use corporate tactics to sell their games (the awards, big hype, opening party for the celebs so the sheep of the world will follow, etc), so their motives are quite simply... money.

Personally... I hate myself for buying them, it just turns my stomach really to support this company. But I am kind of OCD about things and want to add it to my Fallout collection. I don't see the point in DLC really unless your ADHD and want it now, now, NOW. I prefer to have everything on DVD or CD so you can just get it and play it later when you feel the need down the road. I don't sell any games, ever. I buy lots of games when I am away on contracts (my ex-gf's collect them in their mail and hold on to them for me till I get back) and play them all when I get back half a year to a year later... then exercise for a month to lose the weight I gained gaming and back I go... staying longer now due to being stabbed in the knee THREE times (no you really don't pass out from the pain, it just hurts ALLOT and you wish you would pass out), but its good as there are more games now than usual for me to catch up on. I would probably feel allot better about Bethesda if they released all the real (origional meaning Interplay) Fallout 3 info and files for us older gamers to have our fun... but that isn't economically viable so not happening.

Lets see. Ther wount be anymore DLC and they wont use their last 100 XBrick points. A small chance but can happen.

If we get a new DLC then we will see a MZ and New DLC bundle.

If thet doesn't happern, by Christmas/New Year we will probably be presented with a Fallout 3 Complete / GOTY version including the game and all expansions. Sorry I mean DLCs

If we get a new DLC, then it will probably be on sale ala MZ and New DLC bundle around last quarter. It will be bad for Goty edition release at NY rush but I'm sure people will lap that up.

Yeah, because we've never seen bundles that package a game and its expansions after release ever before .
All those gold and platinum editions that often had all the additional content packaged in at a lower total price never existed and are just figments of our imagination.
Really, Christ, stop going nuts over this, they're just doing what publishers have done for more than a decade, it's not some Bethesda exclusive conspiracy to destroy their fans as much as possible, if that even makes any fucking sense.

EDIT: Also for those complaining about the 2 in 1 DLC packs, what's the freaking issue? They cost the same as two regular DLC downloads. They might as well just exist for the people that don't have an internet connection on their 360, there's no point to limiting your potential customers.

*Gasp* What an extraordinary evil! God forbid that the hundreds of thousands of people that bought Fallout 3 actually enjoyed it and wanted to be able to play the DLC so they can further enjoy it, regardless of how shitty their taste may be.

The GotY edition with all 5 DLCs is due in October, we've known this for three months. And there won't be another DLC.

PS3 users get the shaft though... no chance at individual DLC, we get to re-purchase the entire game if we want the DLC.

Hooah.

Well in my eyes all their DLCs are pretty much a bunch of crap (from what I have seen so far).

But I just say, for those people that "like" it. It feels to me in anyway regardless of the quality from the content like a clear ripp of from their "fans". I am just somewhat surprised that many of their fans dont somewhat see that. Well on X-Box anyway. It seems the PS3 fraction of those that "loved" games from Bethesda are a lot more critical and not so forgiving (what I could judge from the forum entries in the official forum).

But hey ... I guess I am just "to old" for it. I mean I come from a time where I remember companies would release most of their "content" not as a "DLC" but on a disk ... calling it a addon. But that was a time when some addons had more content then today some full sequel to a game and only costed maybe 1/3 of a game.

Well then I must have got REALLY old I gues ... when I still can remember companies that did thought about money AND happy costumers. (I doubt seriously Westwood in its original formation would have sold that kind of stuff to their "fans" what you can see from EA for example. But thats a old story by now ...)

Shame on a corporation for using such corporate tactics!

I think there are only 2 ways that this will end:

1) The idiot consumer finally goes broke, and that is coming.

2) The idiot consumer consumes so much shit, gets so bloated with stupidity, that he hemorrhages and explodes.

The third possibility is that the idiot consumer loses the 'idiot' before his name and actually achieves some sentience and discernment. But we all know there's no chance of that.

If you're trying to confirm everyone's prejudice about NMA you're doing a decent job of it.

Heh this to some extent. As much as I hate MZ, I enjoyed the vanilla game including the rest of the DLC.

I wouldn't re-buy it because it's in a shiny new box though.

Baking cobras? So that's what they do in between the US and international releases.

I always wondered why the UK version always takes roughly as long to finish as the foreign language versions.

they have to convert all the references of "telivision" and "TV" to be "telly" and "picture box" because everyone in the US knows that you brits have no clue what the hell a "tv" or "telivision" is.
