Fallout 3 guide creation #5: Quests

I would like to know the maximum skill and/or attribute requirements for quests, so that I could figure out, if you can do all of them with only one character or if I need to create at least two different characters.

I like the black wool gloves.

Just like Imperial Stormtroopers.

If I didn't know that image was from "Fallout 3" I would never in a million years guess it had anything to do with Fallout. It looks like a crappy Star Wars rip-off. Those shoulder plates are hideous - hideous and prominent and repetitive, so you can't ignore them.

(May the) Steel be with you.

No, compared to the gatling laser from the original games:

Which I always thought was a rather lazy, nonsensical design that did not fit in well with the overall energy weapon motif.

I like that design, the Heckler & Koch L30 looked good for a weapon that didn't enter mass production and stayed in the post-prototype stage :(

I plan to review it with a level-head and without descending into crazy hobo-styled ramblings.

not all hobo's are crazy!

As for the armour, I'm one of the mad few that liked the neo-medieval look of the PA in fallout tactics, The laz0r thing that everyone else is g'win on about, well I prefer the FO2 style and agree it should spin / prevent any one barrel overheating.

and as for the screen shot itself, the gfx aren't 'too bad' and bloom wise at least its not R6vegas, which at the best of times looks like a smear of vomit which pulsates through a spectrum of colours. Or dare I say it the one long blur of brown/sepia that was ghost recon 2.

I'd say the gfx looked quite crisp, but that could be seen that I'm saying something inherently posative about FO3, so I wont.

Graphics themselves aren't that bad but armors look aweful and the guy with the rocket launcher looks like he's holding a video camera instead.

"Come on guys, do something cooool for the camera. lolz !!11"

I always wondered what you'd put in a strategy guide for a game that is already its own walkthrough. Now I know. If I were Prima, I'd release strategy guides on how not to buy Bethesda/Gas Powered Games. Seems like an investment for the future.
Quit lamenting that your game isn't going to sell 1 million copies and get back to making your game so it can actually come out.

Also seems like the shoulder/helmet look oddly out of proportion with the body.

Maybe it's just me.

I think so too, large helmet and shoulder pads but thin down from there.

Seems underpowered compared to the earlier looks.

no, it's not just you. it's like I've said before, the whole body part of the armor is just too small and looks like your standard plate mail armor. there doesn't seem to be any room for the mechanical parts of the suit. which makes the helmet, with all its tubes and gadgets, not fit in at all.

I think the helmet looks good on its own though.

On another note, i knew it was familiar somehow:
TURRICAN.gif

There are alot of different turrican armor designs but it seems to share qualities with this trashcan design from Bethesda

Has anyone noticed how each armor is EXACTLY the same, down to the cuts, dings, and dents. Really easy to tell on the front two PA guys.

The armor doesn't feel like it's powered much. To me it's more like a bunch of shiny metal pieces. And I agree, the shoulders are simply too big compared with the rest of the suit.

The screenshot is kinda funny if you look at the two guys with the exact pose. Wouldn't had be better showing the guys on a different animation?

Heh heh, that is what I thought before I realized it was a missile launcher.

heh heh as for the references, perhaps the Paladins say "By your command once in a while."

Actually the Helmets and the Shoulder Pads are good sized. Its the rest of the armor that is broken. I thought Power Armor would be bulky like a WH:40k Space MArine armor due to the servos and support systems inside the ceramic/kevlar/battle steel armor. These suits look like your average fantasy/middle age platemail with retro looks.

I actually thought the shoulder pads were too small. they should have been creating an armoured skirt over the 1/3 of upper arms. You know these suits were developed for heavy infantry and heavy infantry usually has to put his upper body out of cover/vehicle hatch etc. to shoot and whatnot...

The PA used by the Brotherhood obviously isn't the cutting edge. I've been hoping the stuff tossed out more frequently is just a mass-produced version cooked up by the Knights. As they don't have access to high-tech production facilities, the rough nature and design makes a bit of sense. Eventually that pre-war armor was going to get rather rare what with people actively using it and being shot up in the process.

Looking at that picture again, I can't help but think how comfy and new those chairs are!

And I can't help but notice those chairs appear to be floating in the air due to lack of shadows.

But yeah, furniture in Fallout 3 is all brand new. For some reason.
