Fallout 3 hits Steam

LOL.

Hilarious.

Important Health Warning About Playing Video Games
Photosensitive Seizures
A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain
visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games.
Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed
condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching
video games.
These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness,
altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation,
confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of
consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking
nearby objects.
Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these
symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above
symptoms—children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these
seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking
the following precautions: Sit farther from the screen; use a smaller screen; play
in a well-lit room; and do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued.
If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor
before playing.

Right click and download it, worked for me.

Oh well, I'm not even gonna play this game so... let it burn.

At first I thought you meant the game, and then I realized you must be talking about downloading the manual?

Why? Almost every video game these days has that warning, or did I miss something?

So with the bobble heads and 10 ranks in "Intense Training" all your stats get +2 and three get +3? Or one gets +8?

They killed the whole system by introducing the intense training perk :?
I honestly cannot understand the reason for doing this?

I also can't understand people who consider fallout 3 as evolution, to me its more like devolution.

The game price - the 10% pre-order off + Taxes = Bigger price than in a retail store. Keep that in mind ;)

Mister Sandman sounds largely useless, I wonder why all the mystery around it back in the E3 previews. Is this the whole list of non-quest-related perks?

When playing other Bethesda titles it always pissed me off when I was crouching next to a sleeping NPC and I attacked them it wasn't an insta-kill. They'd always hop up and run away hollering. Very annoying. Personally I'm going to use the hell out of this perk.

IIRC, F2 (cant remember about F1) had a perk for raising each stat by 1. Of course, that is only 7 points (one for each stat), and, again, only one perk for ever 3 levels. Of course, you can get modifications from BOS to raise stats... and of course Gifted (but that had a downside being a trait).

Pretty much every game manual comes with that warning.

Man, I'm surprised there's always something someone bitches about.

Too much complaining, enough already. Just suck it up and get over it.

Pretty much every game manual comes with that warning.

Really? That has got to be the first time I've ever seen that.

Of course, I rarely read the manuals.

What about the advertising of NVIDIA graphic cards on the last page? Is that normal today?

You're surprised? Even the original Fallout games are heavily critiqued here (in particular Fallout 2) so I doubt anyone passing up the chance to do the same for Fallout 3.

Oh and complaining here is alright but complaining about the complaining might get you a strike, depending on how the mods/admins are feeling. [spoiler:8fa0b0990b]I'm not backseat moderating. Just trying to give helpful advice. :P [/spoiler:8fa0b0990b]

Thanks for the opinion.

Why did they put picture of X360 controller in PC manual? Anyway, game will probably suck since it's yet another game that had to be dumbed down for console users. Hopefully, Bethesda will release construction set soon so we can make something good out of it.

??? I've never paid taxes on Steam...

What? Damn, I thought everybody paid taxes but I guess it's just Washington residents since Valve is located here.

So they don't have to print different manuals for two different platforms.

even the manual is cross-platform ;)

ALSO - you can use a 360 controller on the PC, in fact, I have one (but no 360) as it is just a USB interface. I think the game may allow the use of either controller on the PC

No, everyone pays VAT.

You can't not pay VAT.

Unless you're a company downloading from Steam for business purposes.
