Fallout 3 NMA mods 2016 edition

First time out of the vault
Hello guys, first time posting here. I've created a few mods for Fallout 3 that I thought maybe some of you guys could be interested into. As a Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas fan, I thought F3 could use some help in certain departments, so, here we go:

1) THAT middle-aged guy - A more nuanced dialogue mod

This mod covers the dialogue of the game. The Lone Wanderer's dialogue to be specific. Basically, everytime I felt I didn't have an option to say what my character wanted to say, I opened the GECK and changed that bit of dialogue. People like Moira are obviously a bit nuts and ask you to do wacky things so now your character will respond accordingly to these, sometimes, nonsensical propositions. It aims to cover the whole game and quests although only about half of them are covered so far. Still, worth a try, I think. Most importantly, you don't look for a middle-aged guy no longer but a guy on a vault suit and with a Pip-boy like yours. Here is the link to the mod:

2) Farms of the Wasteland

What do people eat in the Wasteland? Problem solved. Now settlements have farms with crops that they grow. Works best along with Attentaters Wasteland Economy Revived, which adds brahmin farms to the game.

3) Demolition Expert Wanted - A Megaton mod

A very simple mod, really but one I think was needed for plausibility. Now you need to have some real knowledge of explosives to be able to disarm Megaton's bomb. Vanilla skill requirement was ridiculous.

4) Tranquility Secrets -A Vault 112 mod-

My version of what the experience inside Vault 112 should have been. I tried to fix vanilla inconsistencies and also add a bit to the lore of the series while trying to stay as lore-friendly as possible. I tried to flesh out Dr. Braun a bit through notes and environmental storytelling, also giving some backstory and a system so the Failsafe is no longer a trial and error sequence with no explanation whatsoever.

I honestly hope these mods are useful for you guys and help you enjoy the game a bit more. I know they did the trick for me.

I aslo recommend "Fallout 3 bundle" by Kris Takahashi. This mod adds high quality companions who comment on locations/quests, it also adds new quests and background NPCs.

Always glad to see people working to make video games better for others, thanks for making cool shit. :salute:

I can't use the mods since I don't play "vanilla FO3" I only test it inside TTW.

But those mods seem quite good, anything that makes Fallout 3 make some sense is a good thing in my book :ok:.

Thanks, Risewild!

You're free to create a TTW patch for them if you want. I haven't tried TTW myself yet so I wouldn't know how to do it.

I might take a look when I have time and see if I can convert them, but at the moment we are preparing to release the next TTW version and I have most of my modding time full with testing :aiee:.

Thanks for the permissions :ok: once we release the new version I am definitely checking these out and see if I can convert them myself :postviper:.

Cool! I imagine it must a gigantic effort to develope something as intricate as Tales of Two Wastelands. I love the idea behind the mod. I know I'll do a TTW playthrough at some point.

Cheers.
