i saw it coming. if you take into account most admins are just people and no PR professionals and then add the amount of trolls and flames that have come with the topic... maybe even add some personal trouble for the admin and VOILA: one pissed off admin says it's enough.

what i just cant understand is why they dont move to fallout fan forum, if they dont want to start one themselves. they would probably be welcome on NMA i guess, but we seem to have the image of being nerdy flameboys, so that wont happen.
 
Heh, it would be sweet if Bethests used NMA, though I bet they'd want at least that section to have rules for cursing and such.
 
Well the fact that Kathode has come to here and Codex to speak, has given me some hope. My main worry was that the ES fanboys, with calls for KOTOR combat and so on, would drown out the hardcore fanbase, but I think they're reading what we have to say now. Some discussion about the very basics of the game - such as the combat, the viewpoint - would be welcome, though. Even just some assurances.
 
When they have something actually planned they might give "assurances". Considering the game will take 3 to 4 years to comes out and they still haven't started actively making it, i'd say people should wait.

If anything, we should be more vocal, but in a constructive manner.

Bethesda knows exactly what it would take to make Fallout fans happy. Bitching and whining and constant poisonous cynicism is only going to make them question whether or not they care.

Hmmm. They know exactly what it would take, yet they've indicated that it's too early to know what perspective it's going to take, the use of SPECIAL, and whether it's going to be RT or TB.

Were not going to put up with the shit weve had with Iply before from bethesda.

Were here for one reason. Fallout. We want a good, enjoyable Fallout 3, not a crappy game that makes tactics look good.

do you remember any developer setting up a brand new forum before any decisions are made? before they even know what they are going to do with the license? (i do mean a game without any prequels already made by the same developer)

Obsidian, didn't they set up a forum prior to any insight being given on their games?

No "pointless bitching" here, but in all honesty, Beth could have put a forum up strictly for FO3 discussion, minimizing "fallout" (pun intended) to the other franchise forums.
 
For the most part I think the Fallout fans are posting some very good posts and save for the few troll/troublemakers the discussion has had alot of very good information in them.

I want to thank all the members here who have been posting at Elder Scrolls forums and trying to get the facts and our point across in what is Fallout and what it should contain as a CRPG. Thank you!


I look forward to your post with all the information Roshambo, I'm replaying both Fallout and Fallout 2 as we speak and will post as much as I can.
 
I suggest creating an official Fallout 3 site and forum as soon as possible. Not only will it keep Fallout fans from flooding the TES forum, but it will also show that Bethesda developers are genuinely interested in our input.
