Fallout 4 - Far Harbor Official Trailer

I believe if there was an underwater section or underwater combat they would show it in the trailer. Though the trailer didn't show giant squid, ghoul Yao-Guai or anything interesting actually.

So considering it's a very tame and underwhelming trailer; either Bethesda trying not to spoil much or it'll be very mediocre even by Fallout 4 standards.

Bones, is there any hope for Fallout?

I'm gonna play the devil's advocate for a bit here. You guys are judging it a bit quick. I mean I'm not going to buy it, because Bethesda already proved to me that FO4 is broken beyond repair, and so paying for something that would add nothing would be pointless, but it doesn't look AS BAD as you guys make it out to be.
The lore is screaming as it is being gutted just by the trailer alone.
TBF, We can't assume already that this is going to break cannon lore. Those Geckos may not be Geckos, and that Synth Valentine might not be Nicky. You can't be 100% sure
No story elements revealed, no major players, Hell, the Synths which are supposed to be a major contender in Fart Harbor, were only in it for 2 seconds.
To be fair, Fallout New Vegas' trailer is just shown as a bunch of areas, and a bit of shooting around. You can't expect every trailer to show off the story and the factions.
The animation of the Gecko looking thing at 0:50 is awful.

Something to take note of with this DLC is that Bethesda, a triple-a developer with a humongeous budget that has had like half a year to develop this DLC is reusing assets like mad. Take a good look at the amount of stuff they're just flat out reusing.
Looks pretty shoddy for what is supposedly a AAA game.
I Don't really judge them here, as Black Isle Studios reused assets a lot of the time, yet they still made decent Fallout games. Bethesda did a lot of things wrong , but IMO reusing assets isn't one of them.

From the German version, it looks like the girl we have to save is called Katsumi.

The "you're not perfect" - synth guy uses a different voice than Nick.

The mantis thing has a harpoon stuck in the head.

Also, one beta player at 4chan said that the landmass looks really barren and most of it you won't be able to access after completing the MQ. He also said, some of the quests were a improvement since main game.

I guess, we are overreacting a bit, but this is mostly due to a fact how the trailers for Fallout 4 looked and how the game turned out to be in the end.

However, just the trailer itself and the way it presents itself makes very poor first impressions. Maybe, I am wrong, maybe it will actually prove to be a decent DLC.

However, it still costs 25$, which makes it kind of expensive. And I doubt, it will be worth it.

Looks like it´s going to be Point Lookout 2.0. That´s just great. Let´s hope that aren´t any overpowerd rednecks than can kill the player with a toy gun. With power armor.
Oh, yes, the fake dificulty, armour ignoring buggers, my favorite.

Why the Hell would we need a diving suit when that one Endurance perk from the base game literally turns us into Aquaman, able to breath underwater and make ourselves immune to underwater radiation? DUH! (please shoot me, the fact that that perk exists in Fallout makes me want to die)
Well, deep water pressure.

Judging it quick my ass. Unless they specifically chose to hide almost all new art assets

Did we watch the same trailer? Cause I see an awful lot of reusing art assets and barely any new ones.

W-what? Are you talking about the synth at the end or literally Nick Valentine? They've stated that the synths don't really have true AI but that it is copied off of humans and there's only 1 of each so why would there be two Nick Valentines? And why would they wear the same clothes?

Yeah, and it sucked arse too. At least with FNV we got interviews and shit detailing what the game was going to be like. Bethesda gives us silence and a shitty trailer.

Difference here is the size of the teams, the budget available to them and the time spent developing the titles as well as the time periods Fallout 1/2 and FO4 was developed in. Also, Fallout was meant to be a bit abstract because of its perspective and turn-based combat. Fallout 4 is going for a literal interpretation of shit from a first person perspective, they ain't allowed the same excuse.

Personally I just think that it looks like a rushed repeat of Fallout 4 as well as that it looks aged and dated. Those are my big criticisms on it and they'e backed up by the trailer as well as Fallout 4 itself. So no, I'm not judging it too soon. Maybe others are but from what I've seen the trailer backs up the shitflinging that's happening here.

Simple: Because going underwater will be mandatory, so they have to make sure you can do so even without that perk. You know Bethesda won't give any options for working around things like that, it'll just be 'go to point a, kill creature b, here's a diving suit to do it because choices are silly'.

I dont get the hate tho, fallout 4 is one of the most fun games if ever played!
Of course things could be improved like the visuals and of course the rpg elements but as a whole, its an incredibly fun and addicting experience.
Building settlements, exploring the world, meeting characters and doing interesting side quests along the way, ive played almost 100 hours and thers still so much more left to do.
My only complaint would have to be the load times on playstation 4
