That is what bugs me the most about the "romances" in this game. My little brother lost his boyfriend six months ago and while he is starting to move on, he is still grieving the loss of someone he wished to marry and spend his life with and hasn't even begun to see anyone new just yet. Meanwhile, the Sole Survivor in less then a span of 2 HOURS(!) is ready and willing to bang one of their companions after witnessing the death of their spouse. This just feels so disjointed. The romances in this game feel like it was written by an alien who doesn't understand humanity and human grief.

Maybe the husband and wife that you play as were both colossal sluts who cheated on each other constantly. So it's like, "Well shit, he dead and Piper's got a nice puss, I'mma eat it!"

    Quality writing and pacing yo.

I agree it could have been done better, but your brother wasn't cryogenicly iced, or written by the worlds worst writer or voiced by the notoriously bad male VA. Not everyone thinks like your brother. I am sorry for his loss, but also, pressing [Romance] is optional, so that's sort of up to the person playing.

Agreed but the lest the voice actors and Emil could do was convey a little emotion and humanity with the spouses death. Besides that it just feels kinda weird and creepy to move on so quick after seeing someone you loved and is the father/mother of your child die before your eyes. Guess me and my family must be old fashioned then. That or Emil can't write to save his life.

It's really inconsistent. The female voice actor always sounds like she's just about to cry whenever she talks about her family, but she also tends to overact many other lines, so... Yeah.

There's plenty of inspiration out there on how to act when your family is murdered.

Never liked Frank Castle. Too much plot armor. Going after all of these baddies and just mows through them cause he's 2 c00l 4 sk00l.
    Fuck him.

At least Deadpool and Wolverine got healing factors that explain why they can get into extremely lethal situations and survive. At least Hulk got his Omega-level power to keep him alive. But Frank? He's just some guy with guns. And he's managed to survive this long? Even Wolverine kicked the fucking bucket but noooooo. Not Frankie Boi. Can't kill off the Punisher. Let's pit him against Ghost Rider again so that he can show how cool he is by nullifying the penance stare.

Fuck that walking plot armor mary-sue-esque bitch that can't move on past his whiney emo mass murder spree.

He was really done well in the Daredevil show from Netflix though. One of the more realistic representations of him. And the actor was pretty great as well. And I am someone who HATES(!) the Punisher.

Punisher was fantastic. Never knew that Marvel could get that brutal at times, i'm really glad he's getting a spin-off show.

I like the Punisher, though I do like him best when he's in his element taking out mobsters. Also @Crni Vuk I can't agree more about Jon Bernthal's Punisher being awesome, I can't wait until they start his series.

Well, it's a reboot of the character for the tv-show so I don't have anything against that incarnation of the character. It's the comics version that I can't stand. I can't really stand it whenever a character that is just a normal human keeps being thrown into lethal situations and come out alive time and time again so it isn't a judgement I hold solely against Frankie. I like things that are more down to earth where if a character is thrown into a situation where they can die then I actually sit there on the edge of my seat wondering if they'll get killed or not. You pull the same shit over and over again with the hero coming out alive then any excitement from such situations completely vanishes and instead it just turns into a hero-jerkoff where it is about him/her being badass.

Frank from the comics is one of those characters. It's a carnal sin of story-telling IMO. (Which is why I could never finish the X-Files) Sorry, but my suspension of disbelief is completely shattered when you pull that card too many times. And it is the only card Frank can pull.

Which is why I enjoy ensemble casts far more than any other type of cast. Where I have no idea who's safe or not. But Frank's been riding the "woe is me, dead art thou" train for way too long and the Ghost Rider thing with the penance stare just pushed it over the edge for me, it was a "Jump the shark" moment for Frankie. The tv-show most likely won't keept dragging it on for as long as the comics so I may enjoy his depiction there if I can ever get around to watching it.

That's way more to do with the writer than the character. I really liked what they did with him in Punisher Max and I started the new series and it's psycho drug dealers, so I hope Becky Cloonan can keep him grounded through the whole run.

On the one hand, I'm assuming that you meant "cardinal sin". On the other hand, it's not entirely inaccurate either way. :)

El Punisher as a character is kind of fun in small doses, but... yeah. In fact, the more recent movie shows that without taking time[*] to create some depth around the character, the core plot of his existence is really very shallow and even a bit boring. Which brings us right back to Fallout, I guess. ;)

    * -- OK, yes, the stupid movie took time, a lot of yawn-inducing time, to try to show us that "main character has a family that he loves" but the first 20 minutes could have been replaced with a picture of him holding a card that says "I love my family" for all of the insight into his family life it gave us, please substitute "without successfully managing to create some depth" if you like but that doesn't flow as well. But then it was a terrible movie in a lot of respects...
