Fallout 4 New San Francisco

I think they could revisit Florida and reuse some of the Tactics 2 ideas. A mutated GECK turning the wasteland into a dangerous jungle sounds like an interesting premise if polished a bit and done right. It would be a nice change from the usual dead wastelands.

I hope you meant malfunctioning. GECKs aren't living beings, they can't "mutate".
 
I'd like Philly or NYC but I feel both were hit too hard for that. Fallout set in New Jersey would be cool because it lies between these two major cities. The Parkway and Turnpike dissect the state and a version of NJ State Troopers could patrol these highways like the police force from the 1st Mad Max film. It has an oil refinery, although its closeness to NYC may mean its wiped out. NIKE Missile sites and miles of shoreline, the pine barrens and a fallout reinterpretation of the Jersey Devil, NJ has it all.
 
If we have to stick to the US, the south or the midwest would be the best options. Not necessarily the surroundings of large cities, as they are hard to make and never feel as big as they should.

But Fallout: Mexico would be the best. I can see powerful countries expanding from what was once Mexico, since they were probably significantly less nuked.

Again, no need for the whole game to be about the surroundings of one city. Just because both 3 and NV did it doesn't mean it's how it always has to be.
 
Fallout Mexico as in Mexico city? Or the WHOLE of Mexico? Because Mexico City is also a big city.
 
Not the city, more of a frontier region. Maybe a more devastated region closer to the US and more fertile lands to the south. Smaller cities, but much more of them.
 
Well a small chunk of Mexico's frontier terrirtory is Legion controlled, they could make it with Sonora which has some Legion towns on the north.

I don't htink they neccesarily need to make it "Fallout Mexico" if they are placing it on the border, they could make it a mix of both, in the Post Apocalypse such things as country borders wouldn't mean anything, it could be a mix of both "Fallout the Border" or something like that, there could even be a mechanic with the language differences from one side of the map to the other, maybe even gie spanish speaking players an advantage in some places.

A hardcore mode with realistic language distribution would be nice. And we would get a peek into civilian life under Caesar. Is there any information on what happened to Mexico in the Fallout universe, other than Raul?

Well, GECK contains seeds and stuff, so that could mutate. But a malfunction would be fine too.
 
There could be a small spanish test at the beginnign of the game to prevent non spanish speaking players from brute forcing/Save scumming the spanish dialogue options, they would be closed off from you until you complete it with a good mark (you could take it at any point) and the rank you get give you more and more options when speaking to the spanish speaking characters? Otherwise you would need to find interpreters, Companions with special communication perks that would actively affect the tone and disposition, even the effectiveness of specific skill checks both positively and negatively depending on their personalities and such.
Altho it would be kind of ambitious, a lot of people would probably get mad about it and some could even feel like it's trying to be an educational game.

That is actually a pretty cool idea. I wouldn't call it Nuka World but Disney or at least something similar could possibly exist.

Knowing Bethesda that is what we would get, so maybe that is a bad idea. ;)
 
Nah, Bethesda would just call them Raiders, giving individual raider gangs names is not important.... But details matter of course....
 
That is a big gripe I have too. They can't even give the gangs unique names. Even Lord Humongous called his raiders "Dogs of War" at one point. It gives you something to latch on to. These assholes are just named generic Raider Scum or Raider Boss or Raider Asslord. Who gives a shit about these guys? I liked seeing Jackals, Powder Gangers, Vipers, Khans, Slavers, Tribals, mob bosses, etc. What is so hard about that? It seems like they like to handhold their players, letting them know how strong the enemies might be by generic titles. It's the lowest of the low as far as RPG's go. If I wanted to fight faceless enemies with no character I would play a real FPS. I don't want that from a RPG.
 
I can almost see the Fo4 version of the Interesting NPCs mod coming.... Kind of hilarious that a mod needs to add those. Game of the Year, ten outta ten.
 
Isn't that a sign that your game is garbage? People have to use mods that add more interesting characters since you can't design any worth a damn? To think people defend this malarkey. That is a good point.
