Fallout 4, problems and possible solutions.

If you do so wish to discuss viable ways to turn this game into something enjoyable feel free to, but I will continue voicing my opinion no matter the amount of anger or dislike I receive.
I would expect nothing less :) I guess another reason why I wanted to share the list is that it is pretty hard for me to get all the issues. Just today I was reminded of the raping of NV canon with the alien civilization. So there would need to be a mod that either removes it from the game or rewrites Cabot House to some sort of an underground side show. Your opinions are obviously valid, please continue to share, sorry if I sounded butt-hurt, I was trying to be witty.

It's not an argument, dude. I'm not saying it can't be done or even that it shouldn't be done. I'm just saying that it sounds like it'll be tedious and frustrating and that personally it ain't worth my time.
100% agree, But I'm sure you won't complain if some savory sort makes a granny mod, turning all the betraggled settlers into bangable gilfs. I can add it to the list when the time comes ;)

But hey, if you figure out how to make Fallout 4 good? You figure out what mods to use and how to sync then together to make it a good game? Then please upload a compilation that has an easy install/unpack for the rest of us who don't want to spend hours if not days on something just to fix Fallout 4.
I'm not switching sides here. I still think it is shit, but the one thing that NMA taught me is that so is Skyrim. I modded the crap out of that game and although I don't play it I can say that I personally made the game playable for a few. I have been on the fence with my efforts. Part of me regrets spending years to make there games better. The other part of me is proud that I made some peoples lives better by making a shit game less shit. That doesn't mean that I will be a Fallout 4 modder. I and many others might see the idea of modding 4 to the point of enjoyment akin to tearing down the great wall of China with railroad spike and a hammer. Tedious, painful, seemingly endless. All true, but this thread might be able to chip enough away over time so that the wall has a hole in it. And who doesn't like a good old fashion hole in the wall.

It's not that I can't mod a Bethesda game. I can. I just find it frustrating and tedious enough as it is to get 10 mods to work so 49 mods? I'll pass. The time spent installing the mods and making sure that they work would be better spent masturbating to Nico Robin. Besides, I have no idea what mods will conflict and 'where' they will conflict. One mod may give a general vague description of what it does to NPC's and then another does the same and I have no idea that the two mods are conflicting over a small NPC in the ass end of nowhere that I never even knew existed. How am I supposed to know that is the issue?
It can be overwhelming, it's certainly more difficult with mod managers as they give users a limited scope of the mod. This will only get worse with Bethesda.net and thoughtless mod installation. Taking a quick look in Edit can let you know if it is dirty or not too. You would be surprised how many mods conflict with custom followers for Skyrim because they are adding a new NPC to the shared info, or how many mods have broken navmesh. Any mod that adds a full exterior house prefab at this point does not contain working mesh. Any new areas will be the same that are not just duplicating an existing cell because F4 seems to have the same issue as NV and not all the tools were provided in the CK again. If you wanted to use a mod for Skyrim or F4, I could tell you if it is dirty or broken.
Nico rocks.

I recall someone saying they hate Fallout 4 but installed some naughty mods and doing naughty things to Piper. Did he enjoy himself? Probably. Was an arbitrary amount of disk space factored in to his decision? probably not. Is this person a fan of Fallout 4 because they got enjoyment out of violating a Fallout 4 character? No. I respect your thoughts Snake, always have. Did you read through the list or just the two paragraphs at the top. If you plan on holding a counter position I would expect more from you then the standard "Fallout 4 sucks", which is why this thread exists.
Hey, I'm just trying to save your sanity from the frustration and bullshit putting mods(let alone making sure they're compatible) together for this game. If you want to do it then cool but I just don't understand the point. Either way good luck with that.

Thank you. If it gets too much I'll throw in the towel. Promise.

I don't honestly think you know what "subjective" means in the slightest.
Upon digestion of your account, I divided the proposal. In truth, thoughts of one adjacent in view need not conform as they are secondary to the topic in this regard. Was it a flippant quip, or did he/she bear the burden of waning thought?

Whoa dude, I'm sorry if I sounded like an assbutt with that last part of my initial reply. But just because the link I shared came from the TTW forum, doesn't mean it's irrelevant to your thread and intention here. It's about Fallout 4, not Fallout 3 or TTW at all.

Alright, since you're pretty serious in what you're doing, and since it seemed like you didn't even open the link I shared anyway, I now HIGHLY recommend you to refer to that thread in TTW's Fallout 4 Mod Talks forum. You're but one modder, so you're going to need some help. I merely suggest you what I think the best help, since the TTW team has been doing what you wanna do here since close to Fallout 4's release date, because just like you, they really disliked the way Fallout 4's base game came to be, but can't help to try to 'fix' it. Cheers :drunk:

Thank you. I did check it out, but it is sort of thinking of everyone. I'm going from my issues with it. Very similar. Also, I don't plan on modding F4 or using F4CK, I have the skill set, but I rather others do the heavy lifting. I am content picking up some of the pieces they drop to see if my experience can be improved. For example I don't actually care about realism. TTW admin does. Seriously though, thank you. This more of an endless checklist and what if thread to my preferences and to see if others agree with what I would like 'fixed'

A clarification:
That TTW forum thread contains mostly mods made by other people and not by members of the TTW team.
Although they make some mods for Fallout 4 they usually make bigger mods or take longer to release a mod because they are busy still modding FNV or TTW. ;-)

GStaff did a let's play on twitch and all he did was complain about how bad the game is and how he was disappointed in it, the same way we are here.
Shit really? I know that he did a lets play of Fallout 4 on the Beth twitch where he didn't seem particularly enthused, but he actually said it was bad, I'm surprised.
By the way, I didn't know you were a modder @DirtyOldShoe, could you link me to some of your work?

:) Sorry Izak. I like to be semi anonymous on NMA. I can be myself without being connected to my modding profile. It is nice to not have those connections.

I was contemplating making a mod for FO4 were every time you kill something it screams 360 no scope, noob, pwned, get rekt with a air horn. Might include debilitating volume and doritos/mountian dew particle effects. And possible seizure rainbow colored flashes.

JK not actually going to waste my time doing that, although I do think it would be interesting if it was incorporated into the main game, at least then it would feel right haha.

Mmm one of my friends just said this on the TTW forum about Fallout 4 dialogue system:
The dialog system has been nuked and isn't accessible via the GECK. Dialog in Fallout 4 is carried out in "scenes" that have a maximum of four options, with each response taking you to the next section of the scene. Dialog can detour and then come back around to the original topic, as seen in the question prompts, but it looks like it can no longer branch.

Well goddamn, that effectively kills the chances of any really great premier league story mods. While I'm sure modders could make the 4 options really different and cool, I doubt they could steer it towards a 3/NV type conversation.
RIP Fallout 4 quest mods
