Fallout 4 review - No Todds, no Masters

Pretty much spot on review, 1 or 2 things I don't agree with but everything else I do.

I thought he was joking about the doors and the shadows, then he showed the clip.

I have nothing to add to that, it's self explanatory.

"One of the most basic, fundamental concept behind dialogue in a video game that it's a choice to the player's making. It's a game mechanic based on the player trying to use their understanding of a character be it their's or an NPC, to get the responses or the outcomes they want out of interacting with the people in the world. It's a decision-making game. Many people think the decision-making in Fallout as separate from the gameplay, but that's not true. Choosing what you want to say to someone is one and the same as shooting and looting corpses in these games. It's part of the core game."

Beautiful. Just..... beautiful.

I wonder if we are going to witness a... FALLOUT
Not enough fanboys are flocking to Mister Caption so no Fallout. Just a long video that enunciates all of our problems with Fallout 4, Bethesda and their shills.

Wonder how many brain cells Bethesda lost to shiv the dialogue system so hard in Fallout 4?

This.

This is why I have so much respect for Mister Caption, he understands Fallout.

Saw it yesterday. A bit too long for my taste, but it feels good to hear someone flat-out critcize all the flaws of failout and beth, instead of gushing about graphics and lighting.

I reckon we should just replace everything Mr Matty says with 'low, low prices'

Oh, look, MrMatty responded to the video:

"Hey, man. Despite your thoughts on me, I felt it was worth mentioning that you (obviously) have a lot of great things to say here. A lot of what you said about how Bethesda has changed is very true. Definitely gives all of us great food for thought."

Yeah, right, I don't really believe it. Anyone can say they will change, but after everything he has done, he can go to hell, for all I care.

It's always depressing with these kinds of reviews when the dude has a bunch of valid points and a seemingly healthy attitude and then goes to say "Fallout 4 has the best combat in the series!"

Being completely right. :)

He's dead wrong about Fallout 4's soundtrack, though.

He is kind of right. Don't get me wrong I still think combat sucks in shitout 4, but I cannot deny that it feels much more fluid and responsive compared to NV.

The guns all feel the same, but at least you don't feel like holding a brick.

Nothing mods can't improve, though. The only reason at least I ever came back in F4 a few times is more responsive and fluid combat. After the brand new recoil mod for FNV, Fallout 4 just lost it and flushed to the toilet itself. If one guy in a few months on a shitty engine came up with such improvement, bethesda loses it's only excuse for existance.
Because AI is still shit, I don't find it much of a loss the absent of enemy covering by nearby tree.

Seriously, I agree with 90% but his problem with Dogmeat and the soundtrack make me think he's insane.

He is kind of right.

Kind of. In the sense that Fallout 4 is absolutely de facto the best first person shooter in the series. When it comes to the series having been RPG before (although straying away from that since 'Tictacs'), by being the best shooter it is the absolute worst in the series.
