The funniest thing about F4 weapons is that a right handed character uses guns for left handed people, and the bullet casings fly stright into his face.

EDIT: Also you're going to use the Rule of Cool against energy weapons but not Fallout 4's whacky guns?
No no no. I'm not against Rule of Cool when used intelligently. But there is the thing where the paddle ball is a Lethal Joke Item. SO is the BB gun/. I've got way more of a problem with the Fat Man, because that's not a lethal joke item, it's a walking war crime, it's stupidly easy to kill yourself with it, and just about any multiloading grenade launcher is better.
I'm not a fan of the paddle ball, but you know if I was going to overlook Private Dobbs, a frontline combat soldier armed with a Red Ryder LE BB gun, I can't be too scandalized by the paddle ball. In a playthrough, if I don't like a wacky weapon, like the junk loader, I don't use it and pretend it doesn't exist.
Yeah, it was the same in the STALKER games. It's especially weird with bolt action rifles.Far Cry 2 had that as well. It's so we can see the cool reloading animations.
To be honest, I never really felt like the 10 mm gun from Fallout 1 and 2 was actually a revolver. It was inspired by a certain picture, but everything in the game tells you that it's a normal automatic (12 rounds makes for a HUGE drum, after all). There's a nice variant of it in the Classic Weapons mod for New Vegas that makes it a simple automatic, I like it.I wish the 10mm pistol had a revolver weapon mod. ;(
I want my autoloading revolver thingy from fallout 1-2.

But if you need it as a revolver in Fallout 4, here you go:

Personally, I just prefer this:
yes, the game works as intended but what was intended is objectively inferior to NV, Todd.
4 only has two shotguns. I also think the lack of variety is due to the sheer scope of the weapon modification system. Each time I pick up a plasma pistol I don't see it as a plasma pistol I see it as a soon to be plasma sniper. The fact that you can turn a pistol into a sniper makes the pistol inferior and therefore, at least in my mind, definitely lends a hand to the lack of variety issue.
Yeah back in those days they were actually pistols they weren't just small rifles like they are today. The difference between a pistol and a rifle was profound back in those days but now the only difference is how many perks you put into the right bonuses.I loved how FO1-2-NV did sidearms.
Less damage.
Less accuracy/range.
BUT!
Lighter, less AP (in some cases)
Higher crit rate.
In the case of .223 pistol, actually MORE damage due to penetration perk, than the sniper rifle!
And these days, "It just works."Well, back in those days, developers tended to have more braincells than your average domesticated cat.
lets not dis cats tho
