We don't often post on fan-projects, but MrBumble has been working with Fallout modders crafting soundtracks for their projects for a while now. And now, his work is culminating in a full album of Fallout-inspired music. Check out some samples here, and support it by ordering here.<blockquote>'The Cockroach Sessions' is a collection of 21 songs that were, directly or not, Fallout-inspired. Some of the songs are remixes of songs that were featured in the forementionned projects, some others are entirely new creations... </blockquote><center></center>

That is nice of you to do that BN. That may actually help the guy get more support. The music is top notch. It fits the Fallout theme perfectly. It is good to see projects like this come out.

Wow.

Thank you so much for making a newspost about this !

Just to clarify, for those wondering why there are a few orchestral songs in the middle of the tribal-ambient and industrial songs : I also wanted to include some of my other work as a "composer".
Have no fear as these tracks still have a slightly disturbing twist that reflects the album cover artwork.
There are four of them on the album.

Pretty cool, love the style.

/Edit: I have given you some annonymous 10 dollars. It's not much, but better than nothing. :>

And I have just sent you the links

10 dollars might not be "much" but they still help immensely.
Besides, I am aware that not everybody can afford to give ten dollars for something as "futile" as this so in advance : a big thank you to everybody who contributes and to whoever gave a listen to the samples.

Just a few words as to why I chose to go through IndieGogo first instead of using the the usual ways to sell music ( CDBaby, Amazon, Itunes, Bandcamp... ).
My goal was not just to sell that album. I'm proud of it but it's primary purpose is to serve as a sort of portfolio for my work as a musician. I'm not trying to make "The Glow Inc." into a known project or 'band' ( for a lack of a better word ).
My goal, instead, is to raise some sort of awareness about my work as a composer in the hope to get some commissionned work.

This is what I would LOVE to do as a living. I'm constantly trying to perfect myself, constantly investing in the latest soundbanks, but the sad reality is that it is VERY expensive to create a professional studio and this is why I'm launching this fundraiser : to showcase what I can already do with my ( decent, let's not kid myself ) home studio, to raise some awareness about my websites ( www.iamtheglow.com / www.theglowinc.com ), and to have a platform for those willing to contribute to this project.

That being said, I'm still cool with the idea of having some sort of "official" album with the name of my project on it, with a cool artwork that wasn't stolen for once etc...

;)

I suppose it's a sort of metaphore for a one-man-band ( the fact that he has all these arms, allowing him to play several instruments at the same time ).

The small cell and all the cables are there because that's more or less what my studio looks like : it's very small and there are cables everywhere.

The guitar is simply my own guitar photoshopped into the picture and the laptop, even one can hardly see it, is running my DAW software.

That artwork was done by Torvenius from Starbreeze ( Enclave, Riddick, The Darkness ) /Machine Games ( now working on a FPS for Bethesda ).

You should check his art out ! He's a very cool guy to collaborate with and a very talented artist :

BTW : to those who have bought the album : do not hesitate to post a review ! Would very much like to read it !

Sorry for bumping this once again, will only do so when there are some important news ( like new music ).

"The Afterglow" is a limited release track, available with each new purchase of the album until March 25th ( previous buyers are able to download it too ). It's an atmospheric blues song, with slide guitare, baritone western spaghetti parts etc...

You can hear an excerpt here here and get the album and song, if you're so enclined, there

Finally and with something completely different : if your french isn't too rusty, you can listen to an half-hour interview about the album that I did with Fallout Generation.

You can now preview the STANDARD version ( 14 tracks against 23 for the IndieGogo EXTENDED version ) of the Cockroach Sessions album in its entirety and for a limited time only !

47 days left.

This means I'm halfway there as far as time is concerned.
However, I'm far from having raised half the money I need for this project.
Unlike Wasteland 2, I don't think the Cockroach Sessions is going to reach the success I thought it would.

Meh, that's cool though because I'm learning from my mistakes : I should have clearly spent WAY more time into promoting myself, put some work into an actual video etc...
If I don't spend time building a fanbase to sell my product to, then it means the very people I'm likely to please with my music won't buy the product because they won't even know it exists.

I have raised enough money to get an ethnic virtual instrument ( instruments from India, Persia, the Far East... ) so it's thanks to you, who have bought this album, that I'm going to kick the music I'm working upon atm ( for the secret N.O.W project that I hope we are going to start talking about sooner than later ) up a notch. This is a small victory in itself, so big thanks to those who have contributed so far.

I think raising a fanbase is of critical importance now and I'm going to focus on that from now on.
This is why I want everybody who was interested in the album to get the standard version ( which contains the most Fallout-ish music, no orchestral stuff but mostly industrial, ethic and ambient music ) for free.

I want this version to be heard by as many people as possible. If you like it, then please share it, talk about it, share the link to my website, ask questions ( I will answer ), write reviews ( if you think something sucks, please say it, if you especially like something, say it too ), comment upon the artwork, the musicianship, the mix, the mastering...

Help me improve the music.
