Not sure if this has been posted, but this video talks a bit about UI Design using the examples of Fallout Games at one point, and I kinda think he makes interesting points

I can't really play New Vegas without the mod that adds the classic skeuomorphic UI

I’m liking this Fallout x TF2 thing. Wouldn’t mind seeing a big conversion mod for it.

I feel like the style could lend itself pretty well to the setting if done right. A nice juxtaposition of Fallout’s desolateness with TF2’s charm. Also an unlikely pairing which makes it interesting.

I kinda just want to build this tv if I’m honest. remove the paneling from one if those thin crts and replace it with the above design.

I want to point out that Bethesda has kind of screwed over Interplay/Black Isle and every splinter organization excrpt for maybe InXile.

First, Troika was going to buy Fallout, you know, the company ran by Tim Cain, the creator of Fallout. They were already working on a Fallout 3 but Bethesda bought Fallout. I don't know if this is the direct cause, but Troika soon died. Regardless of whether or not this was responsible for the death of Troika, I still feel like they were cheated.

Second, Interplay was supposed to be allowed to make Fallout Online, but then after Fallout 3 cane out Bethesda changed their minds for whatever reason. They then filed a lawsuit claiming that Interplay went against the contract even though they blatantly didn't. This resulted in most people still at Interplay needing to leave.

Third and most notoriously, Obsidian was offered a bonus if they got at least 85 on metacritic for New Vegas. And they were just shy of 85 by one point. I think that's kind of sketchy but I can only speculate. Even though it was so close, Bethesda decided not to give them a bonus and many many people had to be laid off.

Fourth, just the way they handled the series. Everything. And now they won't even consider giving another company a crack at the series. I'm going to destroy the moon.

One of the annoying things I’ve noticed in a recent Fallout 4 playthrough (that I abandoned) is that there is no child labor in Beth Fallouts. They are either Lord of the Flies type places or they live as similar a life as we see today but just post apoc backdrop. They go to school, they play games, etc.

This is something Half Life 2 had before it was dripped altogether.

By the way just to solve a random little tidbit of trivia here from a post made over two years ago, the city that Bethesda wanted to keep off the books was San Francisco. This was why they also told Obsidian to remove a line of dialogue canonizing the Van Buren lore that the Enclave nuked the Shi. Originally, Emil wanted Fallout 4 to be set in San Fran but Todd Howard was very adamantly against this idea. However, you can see leftovers of this random California lust with the out of place San Fran references that exist in Fallout 4 (Namely Kellogg's memory sequence) and the fact that they totally ripped off the Chinese submarine idea.

Didn't Fallout 4 dig up the Hubologists? I never played the DLCs.

Thats really interesting to hear, never knew that (the San Francisco references). I always felt Kellogg is one of the better written characters in F4 as his backstory (visited in the sequence) shows how he grew into the man we meet in F4.

And yes Hubologists are in the Nuka World DLC. They actually have one of the funnier quests to do (I don't know if their behavious is lore friendly). Its a shame the whole Nuka World DLC main quest is so badly done as if you're not/don't want to be a Raider then the only option you get given is to kill everyone. Just lazy.

who is lou and why is he flat

Lou is Louise (Female, Her, She). She works part time in the 'Cathouse' in New Reno. If you have slightly above neutral Karma and have delivered 10 Cat's Paw mags
and you have high CHA and smell of beer a random encounter triggers if you enter alone with a rubber doll in inventory.

Lou tells you her nickname is flat Lou as she does not have much in the way of tits.
If you choose the correct dialogue. Your loveliness compensates for having no tits.

I will find a way. Then " If I get to San Fran I will ask the Chinese Doctor you speak of to give you implants " This will start the quest: Two tits for Lou.
I hope this clears things up.

Lou is a smart Super Mutant at the Military Base that sounds like Tony Jay. He's looking for a new human sex slave and Harry caught you.

Lou is the Lieutenant (Leftenant correct English) In Mariposa base. Other semi-intelligent 1st gen mutants are in Necropolis if mutants have killed most of the ghouls.

Lou Louise the small titted (flat) young lady is a pigment of my imagination who longs for breast implants to restore lost self confidence, so to be like the other ' California Girls '

PS Larry Barry and Harry were nicknamed Hughie Louie and Dewie
