* Highly recommended, this contains the soundtrack from Fallout 2 which is incredibly atmospheric. These songs will play when at peace.
There is also a war music pack but it is currently being improved. The default HOI2 war songs are in fact better than the war music pack previously released for this mod.
** Multiplayer is untested as at this time.
Main Features, Changes and Updates
==================================
- Lots of fun new content like new techs, event chains, and unit types. X-files and The Hunt event chains now have more game effects. Quite a few Secret techs were added. There are some new sprites that were done by Brother Gukan. Slaving events for those nations which practice it are a regular annoyance to their neighbours, draining supplies and manpower but increasing belligerence. You can find Fort Knox, though is that really a good thing?
- A complete tech review. All techs reviewed, adjusted and have appropriate subcategories. All techs apart from some Unit techs have custom pictures. Big changes here. There are new tech specialty icons.
- A geopolitical framework has been implemented. Nations now declare war! And some are active warmongers, let me tell you. The correct diplomacy and like/hatred settings have been implemented for every nation. Nearly every nation has a working AI file now, only some minors remain. Several geopolitical event chains have been added. The Western Brotherhood of Steel will warn NCR if they expand too much. Or they might pay Den to conduct slaving raids into NCR lands. The Mexican Raiders know the dark past of Necropolis and can propose an Unholy Alliance with them. The three Ghoul nations can truely unite now, or even merge into one super nation. This makes them into a true power of the Wastelands, but the challenge for them then is to survive as they have three widely separated territories.
- New minor nation of hard core slavers made: Caesar's Legion. Led by the charismatic Caesar who patterns his group on the ancient Roman Empire.
- Mainframe, ruler of the Robot nation, has some fun events about choosing how to deal with biologicals. Mainframe can choose Integration or Dominance. Mainframe can also choose to spawn new tech teams or to replicate his own programming.
- All nations now have custom tech teams with custom pictures. You will see Sulik and Grampy Bone, Vic the Trader, and other Fallout favourites scattered here and there.
- Did Special Agent Frank Horrigan truely die in the Poseidon Oil Rig incident where the Chosen One slew the leader of the evil Enclave?
- Sea and Air units are completely implemented with custom graphics and have been significantly rebalanced.
- The Marauders have been tweaked to slightly slow down conquest.
- A completely new nation has been added: The Under-Nation, ruled by mutated intelligent rats who have enslaved the humans and ghouls in their territories. These sneaky, backstabbing monsters are not to be trusted and cause big problems for their neighbours: Vault City, The Huns, Broken Hills, and even the Robots sometimes. They have a completely new brigade type: Rat Scouts.
- Arroyo has now become New Arroyo to better fit some game background material. They have a whole event chain about the death of their starting ruler, The Elder (who is the daughter of the original Vault Dweller and the mother of the Chosen One). The early event about them choosing between their tribal or Vault traditions has also been adjusted.
- The Western Brotherhood of Steel now has ongoing events relating to their Sacred Quest to preserve technology through this new Dark Age, and also about their internal divisions.
- USA is now the Former USA. Under AI control, it is a struggle for them to survive their early Dark Cathedral rebellion. Sometimes they fall to the Darkness, other times they become the super power of the Wastelands that might restore peace. I've often seen them fight the slavers of Caesar's Legion; sometimes the slavers even win and take over the Former USA. If the Former USA prosper, they get a fun Secret tech called Glory of the Eagle which is based on pre-War military knowledge kept safe underneath the Pentagon.
- The Mutants get a new Secret tech called Legacy of the Master, which is material left behind by the Master who created the Supermutants and led his army on an attempted conquest of the Wastelands 80 years ago.
- Many (but not all) nations have had their leaders revised, thank goodness. No more level 9 leaders for those nations! Some even have pictures done. I couldn't quite get all the nation leader files done in time but they will be finished in Beta-03.
- There is a completely new political scheme. Fallout's Doomsday has completely new political slider, like Humanity vs Inhumanity, Control vs Freedom, War Aims vs Peace Aims. And you wont find Social Democrat or Fascist governments for this mod any more. Now you will find Organized Gangs, Post-War Republics, Anarchic Communes and others based on the game background. This was awesome work done by my team mate Brother Pavlov. And he also made the below awesome graphic to show the new government types.
- The Minister types have been renamed to suit the background. Now you'll see: State Leader, Political Advisor, Diplomatic Advisor, Industrial Advisor, Sheriff and others. Minister traits are also completely new. You'll find fun text descriptions for Ministers like: the Lighthouse Keeper who watches for enemy navies, the Pyromaniac who helps your bombers, the Good Cop who gives benefits to security, the Political Prostitute who has a good chance to make alliances, the Wastelands Expert who helps your troops move faster through the Wastelands, the Unstoppable Inquisitor who aims to lead your nation on a crusade, and others. Fun stuff mainly done by Brother Pavlov again.
- New icons have been made for all resources.
- The Underground is thriving in HUB, formed years ago by Decker. What will this do to HUB? But they are such a useful tech team....
