Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada (extended)

No. If you right click on an object you get a drop down box. 1 choice shows the backpack, if you click this it shows inventory items. I've uninstalled Nevada so I can't look sorry. Do you have the expanded lockpick set ? If you have unused skillpoints save then put all points into loockpick just to test. Otherwise buffot and mentats will raise lockpick skill a bit.

So I figured it out lol. Turns out you just got to go to a workbench and then the option to open it appears. The requirements are 75 lockpick or 45 repair and a tool

Anyone know if you can upgrade Combat armor in this game? Just got it, still looking for the power armor parts so idk how long it’s gonna take.

I had upgraded leather for ages. I knew in WOW that guy can do metal armour. Power armour is the guy in Nuka factory area. At Hoover dam there is a technician but I never asked about armour as I made power armour fairly early I think.

hmmm, I have 80 lockpick right now, I can drop it and use the lockpick set I have but it doesn't work either. Says I can't use it on it. When you say right click move down on backpack, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean drop it?

FFS Just take it to a functioning workbench/ worktable a.k.a the one with dialogue window poping up
#1 while you have the briefcase in your invetory..
#2 make sure it's the correct briefcase ( a.k.a. the one stolen from bar patron at hard rock cafe, not the one you've stolen from bertolini's safe, or the ones from any Big Louie's quests).
#3 have at least 75% lockpick
#4 the briefcase itself doesn't raise crit chance, it's the contents of the briefcase that do.. ;)

the same SLC technician can upgrade metal armor Mk2 even further ( recent patches restored this broken nevada functionality).
You may find this usefull if you play with companion mod for nevada, and play legit :p

@Alphons is the go to guy for that.
as for Alphons and beeing the go-to man for nevada tips, all i can say I've got the same walkthrough as He does, and am of the same nationality, so that i can understand the walkthrough's language, that is awkward to anyone besides like 50mln people global wise ;)

am of the same nationality, so that i can understand the walkthrough's language, OK Comrade guitarballs, I never knew you were Chinese ;p. I mentioned a few gripes about my playthrough. 1 Wendover was cut from game. Guy in Silver Hotel talks of this place. I asked all over SLC for it's whereabouts like some soft c**t lol. Also the lost dog could not be rescued. Again I tried all foodstuffs even 4kin pizza lol but ended up kicking it to death because it would not follow. OK I lied. I buffed up and explained to the kid the dog had turned feral caught Monkeypox and had to die. I had some great combat and enjoyed the game but the main quest and ending back in the vault was a bit wanky tbh :)

Alphons and me are from onionland rather than rice eaters :p

and I'm afraid we're speaking of two different walkthrough guides.
the official one was made by Russians, and is not the one I was talking about..
Besides i mentioned 40mln
China is like 2bln or some such.

the 50mln i mentioned consists of:
~40mln country wise and around 10mln emigrants worldwide is not that huge country globally speaking, even Germany has like at least twice that amount of people worldwide.. so You've probably ass-umed something that i didn't had on my mind...

and yeah the guide I was mentioning is in onionlanders language, the most poorly strategicly placed country in the whole world. placed between an anvil ,and a hammer&sickle, and is likely to be soon owned by those for the sixth time now throughout my country's history.

and calling me guitarballs is simply trolling

Not trolling just jesting gustarballs1983 . I remember when playing online poker Dutch people sometimes referred to themselves as Cheese heads, Cheese and Onion crisps are my favourite. I never cheat in games and play always on normal level. I don't know of companion mod for Nevada, what is that ?

Poles are beeing called onions, it's just a fancy way of calling a Pole a redneck.. it has little to none to do with actual food :p
as for cheating in Fo:Nevada I didn't had You on mind ( though it might have sounded like it, as I'm a bit reckless when writing posts), I ment that when playng using cheated items when you get to SLC ( i.e. You just multiply power armor for companions from the mod), there is no need to use Metal Armor Mk3 ir the inbetween one, that SLC mechanic can upgrade from standard Metal Armor Mk2, Just because You'll already will have Grizzly Power Armor.
If Playing legit Metal Armor Mk3 has some role, as You only get up to 1 Combat Armor (if you chose so when turning in warehouse quest in Vault City) before the end game. Besides this, there are like 3 extra Combat Armors during the endgame ( 2 in Goverment Vault + 1 in Vault 8 lvl2 locker instead of the usual metal armor and red memory module).

As I said this is all ment as a general heads-up, not to acuse anyone of cheating...

As for Fo:Nevada companion mod, is a little addon mod to Fo:Nevada that adds few companions, Made by a guy here on NMA modding section. the mod itself is still not finished, as it has some glitches, however the main developer haven't updated the mod in over a year or so. Mod itself requies some files to be placed in .dat archives, in order for one of the party members to function correctly, and it's packed with an outdated master.dat file, so some assembly is required in order to install the mod ( and no there is no installer for this, You'd need to copy the files in to specific folders, so you've got to know what you are doing first, plus do some .dat unpacking to harvest one file in order to put it to a new patch00x.dat where x is a next unused patch number).

don't sweat... i just clicked at the notice that told me there are new posts in the thread... I've read the first page of new posts and responded, only after that, I realised the thread went further down on a next page. When i re-read my post on the actual forum column. After reading the post, i didn't bother to re-edit my post regarding that, as i already edited that post several times earlier..

OK, no problem. I guessed you were Polish when you said between Anvil and Hammer and Sickle ! This term refers to Ukraine, Belarus and Poland I think ,although Onion Land can mean the dark web lol. I didn't get moody when I mentioned I play without any cheats, I have only used a cheat once in my gaming and that was a call for a rocket so I could progress in the original Deus Ex. I get annoyed when these boys on Youtube pretend they play hard mode when you can tell from damage taken and given they play piss easy mode. Do your own thing, peace and good will from Liverpool ( centre of the universe ) :)

Hello.
So, I've never really bothered using a forum like this 1 upwards until now since I really love Fallout 1 & 2 and I just could NOT resist wanting 2 play that Fallout: Nevada TCM (total conversion mod) for myself.

I usually play these with my partner and I was wanting to start playing it....until the dreaded black screen came and plagued my 1920x1080p monitor.

At first, I thought it was a graphics card issue (which it usually is), but every time I tried editing certain parts of the Graphics mode (i.e., Video Mode, Screen Res, Texture Filter, Scaling X2) I even tried messing around with some of the settings in the Hi-Res Patch Config (Graphics Mode, Windowed/Scaling X2 checkboxes, Colour Bit Depth, Screen Res., Refresh Rate, stuff like that).

STILL GOT THE BLACK SCREEN OF NOTHINGNESS!!!!!!

Here's some pics for refs:

Hi everybody! Thanks DeKRus again for linking the original scripts, but now I have another question :P

I went through the script on today's stream and tried to understand how it worked.
Got a reasonable understanding of how the traps are detected and set off, but one thing simply eludes me about this: How to have the player set the trap in the first place?

In the mod, the trap has a "Use on" option when equipped. Clicking the item and using it on the player character causes the PC to animate and drop the mine right in front of them.
Nothing in the script I looked at suggested how to configure the item to do this.

Can anybody help me understand what's necessary to get this to happen?

Black screen right after startup? no sound, no intro videos?

Do other Fallout 2 games launch normally?
Try reinstalling Nevada in the Fo2 folder, not in the sub folder.
(II - main folder:
1. Install Fallout 2, example C:\Games\Fallout 2
2. Install Nevada to C:\Games\Fallout 2
3. Chech "Root directory mode"
4. Start Nevada from desktop icon.)
Be sure to check in which folder the game is installed. all Nevada files must be installed in a Fallout 2 folder.

Are you on Windows 10? then try to:
-Run as admin
-Compatibility mode for Win 8
Before starting, disable any MSI afterburner, EVGA and any other overlays.

Try to also update Sfall and use the new built-in Hi res patch:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sfall/

UPD:
The problem of the black screen was solved by installing Nevada in the Fallout 2 root folder.
(II - main folder:
1. Install Fallout 2, example C:\Games\Fallout 2
2. Install Nevada to C:\Games\Fallout 2
3. Chech "Root directory mode"
4. Start Nevada from desktop icon.)
Be sure to check in which folder the game is installed. all Nevada files must be installed in a Fallout 2 folder.

How do I use the filter on the water tower in SLC?

You can sell it to the sheriff, pharmacist or the Cola plant owner (they offer different amount of money and it affects the ending) or go to the slums, climb to the top and use it on metal construction (high Repair needed).
