Fallout: New Vegas E3 previews

Call me stupid, but the end of that video made me lol. Planting c4 next to the NCR guy, who goes "I hope you know what you're doing" and then blowing him up sky high was really awesome.

the more i read, the more i see xbox players getting very excited for mods that have done been on the PC in f3.

Well, the mods were there because the vanilla game sucked so it does make sense, but what about the due cred to the community? The modders or people brainstorming that eventually led to the WMK or FWE style hardcore mode?

w/e but still.

It seems that you can kill all but one character.
Let me guess: the son of Liberty Prime and a Super Mutant Behemoth? Anyway, seems interesting.

And I think that all the childs will be immortal. The good thing is from what I've read, I think Obsidian will realize that immortal children are annoying. So, they are going to deal with the problem.

All children are immortals. This has been said already.

Who shall be the other one immortal character? Didn't heard anything about it. The player maybe? :>

My bet is on Mr. House.
Maybe until the very end. I imagine him to be a kind of "end boss" character, not the kind of guy they let you kill as soon as you see him.

I am somehow missing your point. Why should be he immortal?

This would be a very sloppy solution to the possibility to kill him easily. But it sounds like you don't get to meet him until the later stages of the game.

I think it would be someone who's a part of your tutorial. Or something among these lines.

By the way, when I played Fallout 2 for the first time, I thought that it's a Fallout tradition to introduce a better Power Armor in the game with every game. Since Fallout 3 doesn't count (neither does Fallout Tactics, or Fallout: PoS, or all the other Fallouts), I wonder if they continue that "tradition" in F:NV. Anyway, in the Fallout 3 engine, armors doesn't feel exciting, especially when compared to Fallout 1 and 2.

The brotherhood will have power armors.

Mr. House could be someone, who wants to influence the area with the players action.

I think the PR needs to be clearer on just who you can kill or not. I guess they are talking about quest characters and such but they really shouldn't say that you can kill everyone when you can't kill children for example. Be clearer or people will complain about it later on.

I've made a bunch of screenshots from the Gamespot demo. Sadly, the quality is pretty shitty. I even registered at Gamespot to download the HD version, just to realize then, that you have to get a upgraded account, before you can download the HD version.... sucks really hard. Maybe someone here has such thing?

Because he's a PAX, and has multiple back-ups of himself.
Or maybe it's because he's really a child!
MYSTARY

Damn you, PlanHex, i was going to make that suggestion!

Maybe there will be only one child in the whole game. Maybe the whole climax of the game will be to find the shocking truth that Mr. House is actually a talking computer, but without a self-destruct command! That would be a shocking twist...

Or maybe there will be a talking brahmin god that you cannot kill. Or a singing carnivorous plant, that demands to be fed blood and it came from outer space to eat Cleveland and Des Moines, and Peoria, and New York!

I hope it's the plant.

I have a feeling they're not counting children when they say only one character is unkillable. it sounded on Josh Sawyer like there will be children in the game, but only a few. and we know that they are unkillable.

I can imagine the doctor who finds you and patches you up being the one unkillable character in the game.

Maybe Harold is back from dead and roams the mojave desert as immortal ghost. :>

Yeah, maybe Mr. House is a child. And the aim of the game is to kill him. But you can't, because Bethesda says so. And you're screwed.

Or he is a child and he's killable. But if you kill him, Bethesda are going to sue you.

Either way, you're screwed.

In that case Mr. House might just become the victim of quite the unfortunate "accident". After all, Vegas, baby! Whatever you do there, stays there.

Hadn't they claimed earlier there were no unkillables other than children? I hate it when PR contradicts itself.
