Fallout: New Vegas G4TV specials

Don't forget the West Coast has actually developed a lot during the games and has a fairly high population now, heck the NCR supposedly has thousands of citizens.
It is one of the problems of always going forward on the timescale as you loose that empty wasteland feel.

Also due to that spacesuit showing up so often in the videos I have "I lost my heart to a starship trooper" stuck in my head. :V

Is anyone else concerned about the high population density? I think that a big problem in FO3 was the locations every five minutes, and in the second interview he mentioned that there were even more locations.
remember that no bombs dropped here

one other thing on the population, according to the wiki and info from van buren, the population of NCR in 2240 is 700,000 people. so there is population now.

Ehh, I would've preferred a map like in Fallout 1 & 2 so that it really felt like a wasteland. But, that's an unrealistic request with the amount of time Obsidian had to work on the game. Also, there'd be invisible walls everywhere and we all know how much invisible walls break OMGIMMURSON.
As far as them adding more locations compared to Fallout 3 - I'm happy. The more the better, especially when dealing with Obsidian storytelling and characters.

I think the problem is not to have a huge size of the land but that they have fear people might complain cause walking without interesting locations (yay for randoom dungeon crawling like in F3 or Oblivion ...) will upset the fanbase ~ The typical Bethesdian Fanbase at least.

To give you the impression of size and empty wasteland is easy. How hard can it be to model a desert with a few hills here and there ? Not that much. But walking 15 minutes or more for nothing ? Not sure if People love that. In F1 and F2 you maybe spend 1 min on the map and arrive in your location if nothing else was on your way. It would have been a good oportunity for including caravn routes or something similar for a "fast travel". But such ideas somehow are loost in the gaming buisness I guess. Speaking about a form of "verisimilitude"

Well, I expect the Hermes armour to return (the red nvg helmet, in case anyone's wondering), so this might not be that much of a stretch...

Quite possibly the Hermes armor is the 'Gasmask + trenchcoat' combination that is seen in the cover art. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/H3RM35_armor
A Bethesda user noted the H3RM35 sign on the antenna in one of the promotional renders.

EDIT: Unless I got it wrong and you were already referring to that. :P

I did, WUE.

Hehe, "Oh, WUE is me!"

NCR Ranger Combat Armor is not intended to be (Van Buren's) Poseidon HERMES armor project reborn. I believe that alphanumeric code on the antenna was added as a superfluous detail by the artist.

Well. At least this means that Obsidian was not going 1337-speak. So it's still good.. somehow.
