Also, before anyone asks, J.E. Sawyer explained that the reason why the lever-action rifle fired so fast was that it had a rapid-fire mod.
 
I like the little screen on the grenade machinegun showing some kind of info, but i can't fathom how the PC is able to hold the gun in one hand while changing the ammo "clip" - the weapon looks huge!
 
It's the same reloading animations like the miniguns, etc. in fallout 3 use.
 
Ironsights is going to make things feel a little cooler. I'm suddenly kind of up in the air about what playthroughs I want to do:

* Genocide run, kill everything, don't even let people get close enough to talk to you
* Hardcore mode run (ironsights only?)
* Stealth run

Wonder which I'll mix and match.
 
Wow, goodsprings looks like a proper town. Can't really think of one in FO3 that does... well maybe Big Town.

Yea, I think physics happens to other games.

Also them ironsights were damn snazzy. Love old style scope thingies.
 
Likes:

-The town actually looks really good.
-Framerate here is solid.
-I like the Iron sight a lot and something about the guns just feels like they have a bit more 'oomph' to them.
-Reload animations look pretty nice.

Dislikes:
-Stupid death physics are not gone unfortunately.
-I thought the actual shooting animation of the rifle looked a bit... off somehow.
-Grenade machinegun is still pretty stupid. On the plus side though, it *does* look pretty fun to use.
 
Yeah, that was odd with Fallout 3 that no town had renewable food sources. Megaton had 1 Brahmin, and judging from the bucket next to it, was a dairy Brahmin. Bethesda seems to have devolved in showing where shit came from. Morrowind had farms, plantations, egg mines, and other mines where they get their armor materials from. In Oblivion, they had maybe a few farms in the southwest and all the mines were taken over by random monsters or thugs. In Fallout 3, they don't even bother to explain where all those stims, ammo, and food are coming from.

I don't hold a grudge against FPS per se.

But yeah, what we have here looks like a FPS with a pause option that allows you to do called shots.

I like the map the action's taking place on. The iron sights is a nice touch, too.

Bubu-but the automatic grenade launcher ? Meh. Too Quake for my taste.

'cause he's strong enough. Remember you have a strenght requirment to use bigger guns.
 
You can use big guns even with not having required strength. But you get a penality then.

Question ...Did the pre patched FO3 have framerate issues ?....Also,it just surprises me that you get the Grenade Gun so early. :o
 
Nah, that's a demo build that starts out with a bunch of weapons and stuff. I assume the GMG will be a mid or late game weapon.

The demo showcases a lot of different weapons, and can be found in the Player's inventory right from the get go. I doubt you'll be able to find a Grenade Gun that early in the real game.

IIRC the preview booths were set up so that the previewers had guns and ammo.
 
I never get the point of demoing the games in god mode with infinite ammo. There's no way anyone will get a feeling of what the game's about and it doesn't do much more than making the game look bad by exposing weaknesses that won't make it to the final build. Why not show hardcore mode or something?
