Fallout: New Vegas patched on PC and PS3

Actually you should check for version 1.4.

Then they must have changed it inbetween, because yesterday evening I've downloaded a version 1.1 and after that 1.3 (link changed). I doubt that I've missclicked the link, because there isn't much room to missclick.

They weren't kidding about the optimization from what I see. My framerate tended to take a serious dive around crowds and the Old Mormon Fort but no longer, very nice. That said, I still encounter a bug where mousing into Cass's inventory (not opening it, just mousing over her items) causes the game to crash. Not game-breaking, I just use ED-E for storage instead, but weird.

Also, Dutch, have you tried unchecking all mods? I had a similar problem for Freeside and Rivet City way back, and in both cases it was solved. Just unckeck all mods, enter, recheck them, problem never happened again with no patch in between.

Ah crap, It's working pretty smoothly I can tell, but my NVSE won't work right now so I can't play with my mods on. gotta wait.

NVSE was updated for working with patch 1.4

I started a thread about it in the FNV tech forum and have been since experimenting in finding out what could cause it to happen.

The strange thing is that in some of my saves and when I started a new game the problem does not occur.

I think some of the saves were the problem does not occur where made after certain patches had come out, while the save I use during which the game is made comes from a walkthrough that is older.

Still even on the Vault wiki it is mentioned that bug only occurs after the last patch came out.
Something must trigger the bug during the game after which the player can not go to McCarran's main building without causing a CtD.

Only thing I would suggest is to start a new game. I am not surprised that a savegame can be fucked up, if it "survives" various patches + mods.

Btw. the new assassin-squads 'n stuff is cool. Before the patch, I've always encountered the legion assassines once and then never again, which sucked. They are one of the few harder enemies to fight in the game. Plus, it's cool to be hunted by them... Good thing that it happens more often now.

You might also try using MasterUpdate feature of FNVEdit utility before starting a new game. It seems to be resolving quite a few issues for some regarding new patches entries.

Fucking lol. "This patch fixes many stability issues"

Totes true, bros.

It fixes the stability of not crashing when trying to trade at the Mojave Outpost. Thank you for fixing stability!
