Hello,

I'm the cheap hack from VideoGamer who wrote that article. Just thought I'd show up here to make a few apologetic noises.

Three possibilities come into my mind:

1. The author is a nub and made some shit up, without knowing it.

2. They remade some of Mark Morgan's work for / into New Vegas.

3. Mark Morgan is doing the soundtrack, even though back then it has been said, he isn't doing it.

Under the circumstances, I'd be forced to say that 1 is closest to the truth. I certainly didn't make anything up; for some reason I was sure that Morgan was coming back for New Vegas, and when I heard the new music my immediate reaction was that it sounded just like F1.

And yes, I should have checked my facts. Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up; consider my tail to be between my legs...

Don't know about everyone else, but I appreciate the gesture.

On a second read, I'll guess, my words have been a little bit too harsh. :>

Mistakes, mistakes never change. Especially not in the internet. :smugoticon:

They usually suddenly do when the person you're talking about shows up.

Yes, damn talking-behind-the-back syndrom. (I've always searched for a reason to use that smilie.)

On some other note:
I am also happy to report that, in the demo at least, you could not steal everything that was not nailed down and even messing with an old jukebox resulted in an increase in infamy and a fight.

Someone has an idea how this is meaned? NPCs will watch their stuff more closely and talk to the player, if he takes something away? Wasn't such thing already in Fallout 3?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The character *sliding* in diagonal while the animation "running forward" is playing must be on of the funniest graphical glitches I've seen.

Was it the case in Fallout 3 ? I didn't even try to play it in 3rd person view...

Unfortunately.. yes. You'd think that in 8 years they'd be able to put a freaking diagonal movement animation into their ancient engine.

To clarify this once and for all:

All of the new music in Fallout: New Vegas is by Inon Zur, however we do use some of Mark Morgan's tracks from Fallout 1 & 2. They're mixed in with the Inon music in places (so are sound effects from Fallout 1 & 2) and the actual tracks themselves will play in specific locations. We use some of Inon's music from Fallout 3 as well. There's a ton of music in this game.

So that journalist had a remarkably good ear to catch the snippits he heard!
So, Mark Morgan's music plays in specific locations. Is it done for the sake of nostalgia, and that there will be locations from the first two Fallout games? Should be interesting to find out.

huh.

i'm getting increasingly more pleased to find out that some of this "FO:NV returning to it's Fallout roots" lip service is turning out to be true.

while it's been discussed that it's not likely Bethesda gave Obsidian this game in order to please us (i.e. the seemingly un-pleasable glittering gems), it would however appear that within the context of FO:NV being developed, Obsidian are making an attempt to please us. and if that's the case--whether or not they succeed, it feels refreshing to think of a company who wants to make a game which fans of the originals love as much as Fallout 3 fans, instead of in spite of us.
