Fallout: New Vegas quest troubleshooting (spoilers)

Are there any known bugs where the terrain can change? Because I've been wandering around Camp Forlorn hope a lot so I know the path I generally take to get from there to Novac without running into any Fire Geckos or Cazadores and I swear the terrain is different. There was this ridge I walked on that kept me out of site of the Legion watchtower on the north side of Nelson, but now it seems that the ridge is further west and is putting me directly in the path of the Fire Geckos.
Am I just imagining things? Also, my FOV seems wider than I had it set too. I had it at 95 before and it feels more like 105 at the moment. Could be another optical illusion but I don't think so.
This is all very troubling for me. :(

EDIT:
I took a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/578982602184347651/C878FDBF8371CBE96FC55D7907618ECE1B44323F/

There should not be a rocky area over to the right of the path up to that watch tower. There should be a dirt hill that I could walk on the other side of to avoid the gaze of the dude patrolling near the tower.
Can someone compare this to one of their games to see if I'm crazy or not? Thanks. :(

Yeah I've been there before. Don't think the terrain changed though bro.

No, it's another space-time warp common in the Gamebryo engine. But seriously, you might want to check the local map, and compare your local map with the local map of another game that's fully patched. Changes in terrain will be quite obvious.

Started playing this again cuz of all the Fallout 4 hilarity made me want to complete the pacifist run I abandoned oh so long ago.

So for Heartache By the Number, I have to not be Evil otherwise Cass will leave me. So I did a bunch of sidequest and did not steal anything in order to increase my Karma. Got Karma to 'Neutral'. Start doing Heartache by the Number by taking Cass to all the places the caravans got hit. She suspects the Crimson Caravan and Van Graffs of being behind the attacks and to get evidence. Problem is in order to get the evidence I need to steal it from some safes. This gives me negative Karma and I'm back to being evil again and if I talk to Cass about it she leaves me. great. :P

So now I have to find more quests that give positive Karma. Heading to The Fort next. I'm guessing there will be some quests there that grant positive Karma upon completion. *shrug*

Get animal friend and get the Teddy Bear for the slave girl back from Anthony without having to fight the dogs. Altho I think there is also a Barter check to avoid the fight.

I have Animal Friend level 2. I assume that's a quest at The Fort. Thanks. :)

kk. thanks. :)

EDIT: FYI, just hit level 30. I'm to the point where I'm picking up Perks that aren't really helping a pacifist playthrough. I'm just getting Intense Training and perks that improve perception and stuff like that at this point. Wish there were more Perks that supported stealth, etc. Even took Tunnel Runner already.

So dealing with Benny at The Fort is bulllshit. Caesar wants me to decide what to do with him. All pacifist options (untying him or giving him a stealth boy and bobby pins so he can escape himself) make the Legion aggro on me and I can't defend myself and I die. Fighting him to the death is the antithesis of pacifist. Letting him be crucified gives me negative Karma.

I have no good choices here. >_<

Also, can a mod change the title of this thread to be "Fallout: New Vegas pacifist option quest help"? Thanks

I say just let him be crucified and make up the karma elsewhere. Either that or set him free and run away.

You could try popping a Stealth Boy yourself, run out out of the tent, then quickly don some Legion Armor to confuse the mooks and waltz out of the Fort.

So, how did it go?

Haven't gotten back to it yet. Was sidetracked by other games. >_>

The problem is I can't lose too much Karma. The whole reason I'm at The Fort now was to do whatever quests the Legion gave me that increased Karma because I'm at barely Neutral Karma and I want to complete Heartache By the Number which requires me to steal stuff and lose even more Karma and then I can't turn in the quest to Cass because she'll hate me cuz I'm evil. :P

Have you already completed the "So long my Love" quest? The one that Joanna the Gomorrah prostitute gives you? It can be completed full pacifist and it gives lots of Karma in return.

Yup. I already did a lot of quests that give you Karma. I was "Very Evil" at level 18 or so and now at level 31 I'm 'Neutral". :P

I think I'm gonna go back to a save right after I gave the teddy bear back to the girl and got the Karma boost and before I talked to Caesar, and just go back to Vegas and do the Heartache By the Number quest, and then go back to Caesar because that is the only thing I need the Karma for. Then I can lockpick/steal to my heart's content. :p

When I'm done with the game I started recently and I'm currently playing, that is. :P
