Fallout: New Vegas screenshots

Hammer of Dawn is online. That's all I can really say or think of right now.
All I need now is a Berserker and I'm good.

Anyway, God Damn, do these textures blow. I wish Bethesda would have let them use another engine, like the one for Alpha Protocol, that one engine used in Far Cry 2, Unreal Engine 3, or even the Steam engine (Heh, I see what they did there). Gamebryo is fucking ancient in technology years.

EDIT: Is that an M1 Garand in the picture where he is shooting robots?

Yep.

I am really no graphic whore and usually I don't care about a games appearance, but this engine sure is dated. Also - the lack of shadows is just "meh".

yeah i didn't mind these graphics so much when fallout 3 first came out... but these screens just look piss poor. no shadows? i'd rather look at f1/f2 than this crap.

I call dibs on the new robots as Cop Bots!

I think Bethesda should've let Obsidian use Id's Tech 5 engine. They fucking own them now.

These supermutants don't look far from them and yes, that is indeed an M1 Garand.

I also thought it was an interesting touch that they modelled the AR-15/M-16s with the super early brown stock and handguard. As I recall, they were later green for a brief time and then black, which is what we are most familiar with.

And boy do those graphics look rough. Here's hoping the rest of the game makes up for it...

Bethesda is making this on purpose, so the game fail.

To me the important is the story, the others thing can be change with a mod right?

Screenshots for FO3 looked mostly like shit too, while the actual game looked pretty good and atmospheric (animations not withstanding).

At least they used antialiasing in some of those screenshots, makes quite a bit of difference.

..and who the hell cares about graphics in fallout game anyway

interview with feargus on escapist:

TE: Are you ready for the inevitable mixed reaction from people expecting something they aren't going to be getting?

FU: Yeah. There's going to be a couple of fan sites that will vilify us, but that's the way it is.

..see what you are doing ? : )

How cute, you think we care.

The models are indeed bad, but i like the robots.

The gun on the last picture is supposed to be an M1 Garand, I think.

Fits FO timeline (in that it was created before the diverging FO timeline started), but is somewhat out of place compared to FO1's approach to weapons.
