Glad I read that here instead of wasting time watching it. I remember hearing somewhere that Bethesda retcons were usually done out of incompetence not malice... hard to agree with that sentiment at this point. Whether you agree or not, NV is widely the most loved of the series, for them to shit on it that hard is pretty telling.Looks like they saved up all retcons for the final episodes.
Vault Tek launched nukes because they were fearing of losing all their profits and dotations due to potential peace treaty with China.
They decide to do it during a corporate meeting with various companies (apparently that's the cameo appearance for House and Sinclair) and divide the Vaults between themselves to see who will rule post-war America.
NCR was completely destroyed after Shady Sands was nuked in 2277, completely retconning New Vegas (First Hoover Dam Battle should take place in that year). Only bands of marauders still carry it's name including the bandits that attacked the Vault.
The crater with Shady Sands library sign in trailer was the Shady Sands. It was not founded by Aradesh, but the leader of the NCR bandits.
The show ends with a shot of Vegas, but it's completely dead, including Strip casinos (so I guess this version of House did not prepare).

so is this not set in continuity and its just like a seperate continuity entirely then? tho the anti war message of "people will always find a reason to hurt and kill each other thatll never change" being turned into capitalism bad is horribleLooks like they saved up all retcons for the final episodes.

You know, I'm not surprised they did the lore like this. What I am surprised about though, is the fact that they ACTUALLY went through with doing it!Looks like they saved up all retcons for the final episodes.

So it's like a weird alternate universe that pulled pieces of the script from the fallout movies crom Interplay pictures and wanders as post nuclear zombie that takes it's identity from everything else but its source material?so is this not set in continuity and its just like a seperate continuity entirely then? tho the anti war message of "people will always find a reason to hurt and kill each other thatll never change" being turned into capitalism bad is horrible

LOL, lmao even.
No! It means that Shady Sands was "falling" since 2277 and the other thing happened some time after NV (look at the arrow! It clearly means it did not happen in 2277!).
