Apparently, being an immensely rich music industry conglomerate means you can randomly violate basic human rights. In addition to their usual breaches of people's privacy, RIAA also repeatedly demonstrated that Universal Declaration of Human Rights articles 17 ("No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.") and 11 ("Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence."; "No one shall be held guilty of any penal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a penal offence, under national or international law, at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time the penal offence was committed.") mean nothing to them.
Namely, a man in Milwaukee was forced to refinance his house to cover a financial settlement (no, not a penalty - a fucking settlement!) of $11,000 with the Recording Industry Association of America, after the said association (or, should I say, crime syndicate) pressed charges against him on account of traces of MP3 songs (no, not actual songs - fucking traces!) they allegedly found on his computer. The question I must ask myself is - how the fuck did RIAA find these "traces", and what the fuck gives them right to arbitrarily scan people's hard drives?! Even if the said man did violate the copyright laws by possessing MP3s, how do traces of these MP3s constitute evidence that such violation occured, and, more importantly, how can such evidence, quite obviously obtained in a downright illegal manner, ever be used in the court to prove the charges against the Milwaukee gentleman? These RIAA fuckers should be the ones paying him $11,000 to settle what was obviously a rude breach of his privacy!
I simply can't describe how pissed I am at what these fucking dipshits are doing! What kind of a fucking world do we live in, when a criminal organization like RIAA can openly extort money from ordinary citizens without any repercussions whatsoever?! Fuck capitalism and fuck democracy - in the totalitarian socialism we were at least protected from neofascist motherfuckers who use their tremendous financial wealth and power that comes with it to terrorize helpless people without any sanctions from government organs that are supposed to protect these people's constitutional rights! When I have a job and am wealthy enough to buy CDs, there's no way in hell I'm buying a single song from these ruthless, money-grubbing shitfaces! I'd rather be stabbed in the kidneys than give a single penny to an organization that illegally spies on citizens and extorts money from them!
