An interesting article for those of you worried about food resources.
Also, I wouldn't mind eating less red meat, if I could eat pasta and pizza more often....
U.N RFO is really controversial and tbh eating less red meat wont do much if you don't change the way agriculture is handled by local farms and big farms. The USDA helps in that more so than the United Nations. Nevermind the fact all that water would just be used for crop growth.
I think we all have a vested interest in Regenerative Soil, Less Tilling and more Floawing, I think we all appeal to science for lab grown meat. Better Manure. (Cows could help with that.) GMO.
LOL, This fucking article makes me fucking rage. "We must move towards more a plant based diet" Nice fucking bro science meme, I'm sure all that water won't then be used to housed dozen of crop fields where people till the fuck out of the crops and cause soil degradation. This guy can go and fucking kill himself. Holy shit, Never once have i hated the U.N so much in my life. Never-mind the potential crop failure or the fact you couldn't even distribute that already in war torn countries facing strife like in central africa.
"Today half the world's agricultural land is used for livestock farming, he said, which is far less efficient for feeding people - and worse for the environment - than producing grain, fruit and vegetables for direct human consumption."
Really dipshit, You don't see how just growing low caloric food on non stop with large amounts of crops fields to feed over 7.3 billion people could potentially backfire hard? What about the fact that most fruits, veggies and grains aren't that high in calories and that things like fiber (Which is important) in such little food will also prohibit a persons capacity to eat? Also, I wish the U.N dipshits would cite actual sources for the food that is being used. If you were to buy a cow off the market or go hunting that would last you for about a year depending on the conditions and how it is stored, As opposed to grain. (Unless i you buy that in balk i presume???)
Holy shit, I'm sorry but i'm not angry at anyone here so much as i'm angry at articles like these are made. They have ZERO fucking idea how Green House Gases work. Zero idea how farming works, Can't Reconcile good practices against bad ones and use meme, Vegan bro science. I actually took Environmental science, I know a thing or two and i do know that Carbon Emissions from Fossil Fuels and Industry are more responsible than fucking cow farts and if we choose to eat meat in our diets. Doesn't make meat innocent. Eating meat does contribute to issues and to a degree of climate. Just that you could redefine so much of the industry and better environmental practices to reduce it's cost by using Green methods less emissions from the factory farms and using cow manure for good crop placement with less tilling. Tilling is when you grind the soil up and you dig deep to put a bunch of crops inside of it and then grow it within. More floawing which gives a break from the strain of extended period of use to grow crops. I believe the term is denetrying bacteria? Or bacteria that is introduced into the soil to recover from soil degradation. I haven't even got to food deserts yet and i'm probably forgetting some other crucial things.
But let's be honest and call FAO what it is, Controversial at best and Scumbags with an agenda at worst. This article also could have spun words around.
