Favorite weapon(s)

I used to be a big fan of the Gauss rilfe and pistol, but after overusing it, I got bored. Now I purposely use less commonly used ammo types later in the game.

Makes it a little more challenging and more interesting to boot. (Though it can take a few bursts of the M60 to take out an Enclave trooper at distance.)
 
The shotgun on FO1 was something i carried around just for kicks, with bonus rate of fire, finesse and 8 luck it would cause 60+ criticals. The sniper rifle was brilliant for killing ghouls, but my overall favorite would have to be the .223 pistol - its a sawn-off assult rifle for goodness sake! The plasma grenades when i could get a big enough group of ghouls/raiders close together - 40-90 damage!

In FO2 i was in love with the Smith and Weston, revolvers that meant i could fire 2 targeted shots in one turn made my day. The pulse rifle had the coolest death animation in FO2: Pink frazleing of the of the skin/organs then the skeleton turning to ash as dropping ... jaw dropping fun.

In Tactics the CAWs was a babe, but i also liked the punchshotgun, just for style. The needler was much better in Tactics than FO2 - it actually poisoned the enemy, nothing like sneaking, poisoning and running. The M1 Garand was much more fun than the sniper rifle in tactics i think.
 
Not sure if I've ever posted in this thread but... I think in the first game I like the .223 Pistol best overall, that and the shotguns. The assault rifle is a joke.

Also, not sure how far back Suaside was quoted from but the G36 was not developed from the M16 series. It borrowes heavily from the AR-18 which was developed after Armalite sold the AR-15 (m16) design to Colt... Meaning it's better than the M16, by far. - Colt

Yeah... I gave it to Sulik only after I'd got a gauss rifle :)
Bozar, to my mind, is a very good weapon! ;)
 
That 223 sawn off has a range of 30! I'm in the begining of a new game and Sulik is getting alot of kills with it. Next is Cassidy with the combat shotgun and Vic hasn't killed anything yet with his standard shotty. Can't wait to find a Pancor jackhammer, a really good all rounder and plenty of ammo.
The bozar can be a bit overpowered if you get one early so i tend to save ammo and use it for leveling up expeditions in the desert and the assault on Navarro.If you have good gun skills and perks the gauss rifle is perfect for Navarro however.
 
If I go with Fallout it's plasma rifle, on Fallout 2 I'de deffinatly go with the Alien Blaster!
In FOT I'm in for some fancy Plasmagranades :twisted:

Yes, I know it's totally impractical, but I just love running with this beauty and a T-51b Power Armor on.
 
Fallout: Favourite weapon was either the combat shotgun (auto) the magnum or the turbo plasma rifle, cause I just remember this bit where theres some guys holding a brotherhood of steel member hostage (you find that out later) and I picked up an auto shotgun off one of them and my very first shot with it was a burst critical and it just felt sooo good xD, the plasma rifle I got really early on cause I found myself at the glow in no time, and turbo is the same but better and I just about never put it down, I loved the magnum pistol though cause its just class =D

Fallout 2: ooo the Pulse rifle thing was loads of fun, specially on crits, but the Bozar was just so much fun, so I think ima go with that, cept the red ryder bb gun was hilarious =O ooo darn >_< ionno
 
Heh, after reading through this thread I've noticed that about 90% of those who posted prefer guns. Big, loud, automatic "macho" guns. Guess a lot of people here are gun nuts :D

Very few posted that they like melee weapons most of all. Well I would one of them.

In both Fallouts my favorite would be the combat knife or the baton.
The combat knife looks cool, so bad-ass and the attack animations are also cool. Just dress your character in a leather jacket and give him/her a combat knife. To me nothing can beat that feel.
The baton is nice, especially because of the sound it makes when you pound something/someone with it. :wink:
 
I'd have to say either the Flamethrower with the Pyromaniac perk or the Bozar since its pretty much the best machine gun that goes right through a group of people. Watching someone dance around while on fire tho is quite entertaining especially when they fall to the ground in pieces. :P
 
I love the Desert Eagle .44, but only for the style and sentimental value (it's the whole reason I found Fallout in the first place, since I found it while searching for the gun's RL specs)

As for practicality, my favorites are the .223 pistol and Bozar as a combo pair. The .223 is actually taken right out of Bladerunner, one of Harrison Ford's lesser known and better movies, and one of my favorites (and it's even Post-nuke, sorta). The Bozar is just totally badass, though I personally like it better with a slight tweak I did to it with the items editor: I added a single shot option, took a point of the AP costs, and upped the range just a little bit, so that it could double as a more effective sniper rifle. I also added one round to the Pistols ammo capacity, just cause I could. Totally badass combo.

Of course, I did these only AFTER I had already beaten both games.
 
oh i take back that with pipe rifle i think i was drunk or something my favorit weapon is boxing gloves i love the red colour
 
In fallout 2 it has to be the pancor jackhammer just because it slaughtered everything at the start, and in fallout 2 the turbo plasma because it just melted everything in sight
