Then get 1 luck and HIGH outdoorsman and you WILL encounter but can choose evade it or not.
More simple way its a "A" button.:)
 
What an idiot I am, after +800 games of FO2 and having heard you guys go on and on about the Red Ryder LE BB Gun, I decided to try it out in a normal game.

Ok, The Chosen one has kicked Vic and everyone else out of the party and is heading to the Enclave now with +1000 BB rounds and one Red Ryder LE BB Gun.

This weapon is the best.
 
It really isn't.

I've been much more effective wielding a Gauss pistol, actually. The high rate of fire per round that you can get with it, plus Sniper and a high LK score, makes it incredibly lethal.

With skill more than 90-110% - Cr. Ms. are really rare. Even with luck 1.
+ its very fun when turbo-plasma blowing in your hands.;)

best way its take combat armor, psycho, pers. with ED&LK10 and Jinxed trait(or pariah dog) and go to Enclave... and look as they kill themselves(plasma turrets too!).
 
Favorite Fallout 2 weapon: I was always partial to the .223 pistol. Isn't it like the ultimate sawed-off weapon? :)
Actually, Fast Shot + Bonus Rate of Fire + 5x Night Vision with the Solar Scorcher is highly amusing. 2AP a shot and 0AP reload, no matter the lighting conditions. Yeah, I know its cheese. So what.

Fallout Tactics favorite weapon? So many fun toys in FoT...Dynamite Spear...shotgun punch glove thing...Squirt Gun with the acid ammo...so many choices, so few targets.
 
Fo1: Turbo Plasma Rifle for most foes, Gatling Laser for Deathclaws, Lou and the Master.
Fo2: Gauss Pistol for most enemies, and a bozar just for fun (I love to make Bounty Hunters in pieces) or as a price to everyone that hits me.
 
I like the Bozar, so powerful, and with agility 10 and two special skill, I can shoot two times. I always keep two Bozar with my hand, sometime it may hurt my follower, that's so o bad, have to load game.

Dunno if it's a real weapon, but it can be found in Fallout 2.

Around San Francisco you can encounter Press Gangs. These employ a wide variety of high-tech weapons (Rippers), and it's from them you can score the Enfield rifle.

(I'm not 100% sure if the Press Gangs had the Enfield, but I did get it from a random encounter near San Fran.)

As for my weapons:

Fallout 1: Super Sledge + .223 Pistol. You really don't need anything else.

Fallout 2: Vindicator Minigun. Ever scored close to 15000 pts of damage from a burst round? I have. With this mofo.

Fallout Tactics: Browning M2. Even at it's maximum range, it has an awesome chance of causing a critical...a fatal critical.
 
Yes, it's a real-life weapon, just that it had a different name or something. Nothing particularily special anyway.

I think it can be found in the gecko caves, but I'm not absolutely sure about that.
 
If you encounter a merchant party south of San Francisco, there's a chance the he or she might have a couple of Enfields. That's how I got'em.

But the G11E (with emphasis on the "E"-part) is a far better weapon. Better damage, longer range, better magazine capacity..and the ammo for it isn't that hard to come by. (If you enjoy killing Hubologists..they got both ammo for the weapon, and of course the weapons themselves.)

And Browning M2 in FoT is really an evil weapon. Effective against anything, at any range. Too bad the 50.cal ammo is scarce. (To blow away a humanoid bot with just one burst salvo is pretty entertaining..)
