FO2XP Mod

I have some modding experience. And will try to work with this alfa. First of all I fix the most critical bugs. And after that look what can I do with new items and crichers. It is a lot of unused animations and items in mod... so it will be interesting.
 
Recently I found some cool modding tools and decided to tweak FO2XP. I got old tweaked vercion on PC but it crashes with "the instruction at xxxxxxx referenced memory at xxxxxx the memory could not be read from" error when trying to ented new towns. I installed fresh Fallout 2 and unpacked all files from FO2XP dat files in data folder. Now on starting game I got black screen with my Chosen standing in the middle and red hexes where I move mouse.
Had someone similar mistakes? Or maybe know how to fix them? I realy want to play this mod...

I cannot help you unfortunately. You sure you have a proper working version?
 
Hurray! I figured it out. It seems mod due to its finicky mechanics pretty much ignore DATA folder and patch000.dat. It take data ONLY from FO2XP-M.DAT and FO2XP-C.DAT. Also unpacking it resalts in creating SAV files in MAPS folder resalting in crashes when returning to visited locations. So to make a change I need to unpack and pack FO2XP-M.DAT.
So mod is awesome. Tons of weapon and critters to kill. It have two notisable bugs:
1. Unkillable wolfs. They surround you and its #load game#. I fixed it by disabling all encounters with them.
2. Merchants sell only weapon. Even Renesko (he got some drugs first visit but then spawn only guns). So no drugs except from loot.
 
Was curious if any of the new mod have been using resources from this mod. Found the idea of random loot in containers and interesting idea. I believe Arcanum also had it share of randomness in some of the chests.

Also sad to see the FO2VDIFF never got futher updates.
