FO3 Player Housing and decoration...

Still Mildly Glowing
So I have this "problem" with FO3... Everytime I see a cool place I want to decorate it and make it like a 10th home >.>

I probably spent more time decorating places than doing other random things that have nothing to do with quests...

My personnal favorites:

Big Town: merc camp, everyone wearing rivet city armor and town is full of guns and ammo (threw a bunch of radaway and quantum in the lake at the entrace, it almost hurt your eyes if you look at it for too long x.x)

Red biker trycicle: Added a few more stuff on the raider camp, I always loved this little place with 3 dogs.

Wilks' house: Food in the kitchen, random stuff in the living room, a few guns... pretty much a normal house.

Grocery store in DC: Cleaned the place up and "re-opened" the store, I even have a scavenger neighbor to make things look a little more alive.

Empty tent in Rivet City market: Made a cigarrete/alcohool shop, place two brahmin heads on the roof and made Charon the shopkeeper, looks pretty cool.

GNR: Placed weapons and medicine on the barracks, some food on the kitchen, cleaned all the tin cans, placed some shiny mumbo jumbos and a survival guide in Three Dog's studio...

Pensilvanya: Gave the Paladin inside the hotel a sniper rifle, placed some aqua pura around the place nearby BoS soldiers, cleaned the place up from muties...

Regulator HQ: OH... MY... GAWD... This place was a shithole before I cleaned it up... At least it looks much better now, placed a bunch of weapons they usually use on patrol, some food and random things on shelves (too bad I had to keep the back room as storage for all the unpickable crap I couldn't remove from the building).

Ranger Compound: Removed all the random and nonsensical crap from the storage rooms, kept only medicine, guns and shiny gizmos (wich are the only things they actually use), there isn't much that can be done here, just made the place looks more alive with more supplies in the shelves and stuff...

Dr Li's room: WHAT!? She's gone anyway... Still decorating it...

So am I crazy or something or you guys alredy done something like that too?

Not so much other people's rooms, but everytime I play, I always end up grabbing atleast one or two items and covering my entire fucking house with them. I've got a bathtub filled with nuka cola bottles, a room FULL, and i mean, FULL of pre war money. One of the beds like Dukov has covered in pre war money.

Oh, and one time in paradise Falls, after murderizing the town, I dragged every body into the little door-slidely radiation protection room thing.

A good place is a room in Farragut West Metro, a room with a Naval Cot, LOTS of filling cabinets, counters a desk with computer and a re-lockable safe (which is a nice little novelty even if it serves no purpose) a few shelves and instant access to the great DC metro system.

Crazy, not at all, I've spent many hours going around every Enclave Camp mesmetroning and freeing all the soldiers to make them friendly, done every camp in the wastes now, also ran through all of the satellite relay doing the same thing so it still has all the Enclave still in it (and the corpses of all the BoS that a supposed to be my allies  ), I do stuff like this all the time, I turned the Rivet City Market into a huge armoury, everyone down there was dressed like BoS, BoS outcasts, Regulators, Talon Co and even Raiders. In my own little story every one was joining together to fight the new Enclave after Broken Steel. Tenpenny Tower became the new Enclave HQ, armed with Alien Rifles and Megaton, Canterbury Commons and the Republic of Dave all got new guards because they joined the Rivet Republic.

I spent a long time planning this, even longer making it and when I was done I didn't know what to do...

I call it Sims 2 Syndrome.

Lol I made my own lab at farragut metro station once even had the ghouls alive to keep them as experiments.

It was win, actually looked like a lab.

I also made kinda what you did, I made TT an enclave base and my house was an armory, Tempenny Suite became my house :P

Too bad I couldn't give them laser rifles since they respawn ARs and ammo...

Something which I too found out to my cost, shitty re spawning, still could be worse, it could be like Rivet City where all the guards re-spawn not just there inventories.

I spent ages in Tenpenny, Boutique le Chic became the armoury all those shelves became huge racks of laser and plasma rifles. I laid a set of cutlery out at every seat in the cafe, just like in Raven Rock, and did the counter behind it like the one in RR too; 5 mugs, 2 coffee pots, 2 pots, 3 pans, a cutting board and an empty scotch bottle, with a knife and a spatula for good measure.

My suite had the Vault theme and the dining table in the middle became a desk with the two other chairs being for visitors, Burke became like the Secret Service in F2 and Tenpenny got a Grimy Suit and became the new President.

Also another good place is the Talon Company Outpost just west of Megaton, it's got Sofas, a little laboratory, 4 beds its quite good.

The Robot Store near Canterbury Commons is good once the bots have been made friendly. This and Farragut are my favourite wastelander homes, I currently reside in the Satellite Relay Facility from Broken Steel with my army of 'clave however though.

I never really spend time decorating anything other then my house in the game. However, on my evil Mister Sandman serial killer playthrough I was obsessed with creating gory crime scenes by arranging the bodies in specific ways and planting items on or next to my victims for added effect or making the death look like suicide or drug overdose.

Since I'm a compulsive FO3 decorator my main objective is to clean all that crap in Blackhall Manor and revive the place.

Now that's a challenge...

You guys need a hobby, a girl or a job (or all three).

I think this might be better suited for you guys…at least its 1950’s.

I never could decorate anything, never had the patience to use the Z key to drag stuff. On the other hand, I always had a place to stuff my armour and weapons and misc items in Morrowind. Good times.

Reading some posts on this thread and other threads about Fallout 3 makes me wonder why people make "A crazy dentist using a ripper and a red bandana while kiling mole bats" or "a woman who thinks she's still in 1950 and go around the wasteland killing naughty boys with her pre-war dress and a rolling pin"

Seriously what the fuck? I know putting random stuff on shelves or reverse-pickpocketing NPCs is weird but that is just fucked up. >.>

I wonder how these people pretend to be one of these character while playing FO3.

Because it's fun? Did you really need to ask this question?

It's not fucked up just because you think it's weird. It's called escapism and make-believe.

Nah, just take a look at this. The best clothing for Bethsoft target audience, IMO.

So you're saying that 18-25 year old male demographic should all entirely be locked up (as well as the guys in the 12-17 range) in the crazy house? You're saying that I should be locked up because somebody made a videogame targeted at me and a couple of million dudes like me?

I wouldn't say Bethsoft games are targeted towards 18-25 year olds, they're more targeted towards people in their mid-teens. The M rating is just tacked on at the end because of the high rate of Bloody Mess and EXPLOSHUNS.
