FOnline second open test started

I agree that there's the whole PKer issue which is kinda delicated. Me, I like some PvP between groups. Teaming with some friends and taking a base from another group is awesome. What I don't like is the whole "Bluesuit PKer" thing. Hahahahhaha, I have this gun and this cool armor, I will kill almost anyone for no reason, hahahahah! That's kinda sucky. Specially people in APA who think they are invincible gods of war (and sometimes they are) and then go around atacking people for no reason. I admit that I am a bit trigger happy and I killed a guy by mistake once, but this IS the wasteland, so you should expect people to be naturally trigger-happy. I think PKers are kinda necessary to keep the wasteland feeling of constant threat, but too much makes it frustating.

I think the best way to deal with PKers is to make it so that acting like a crazy psycho has consequences. But there should be some diference noted by the game between self-defense, justified atack or crazy psychotic rampage.

One issue I have is that there's too much hi-tech stuff. Almost anyone is walking around in Combat Armor packing Pancor Jackhammers and .233 Pistols. I would like to see more home-made weapons, junk-weapons and more low-tech weapons in general. I think Power Armor should be ultra-rare, and Advanced Power Armor should either not be available at all or be available in somekind of super-hard, endgame quest. Same for things like Plasma Rifles and other cool, hi-tech items.

I agree. At the moment, weapons like the 10mm Pistol or the Mauser, etc. are useless crap. If I have the choice between the 10mm Pistol and unarmed combat, I would take unarmed...

There is a saying on our forum. "Men must suffer!" as well as "You are absolutely incompetent in understanding the spirit of the Wastes" which are both strong arguments in ongoing conversations. :D Take a note :D
Other sayings: "Killing bluesuit - honorable!" "Noob should stay in hell!" "Ganking became better, ganking is more fun" "Haven't ganked in the morning - day passed in vain" etc. ))
upd. ooh how could i forget the main one? "[More] hardocore!" :D

I'd say the evidence for separate language servers is kind of piling up by this point.

Killing bluesuits will just drive away new players, limit the amount of players and kill the project off.

It is worse than pointless ... it is actively bad.

I would say yes but for another reason : It's just more funnier to kill someone you understand .. Coz don't fool yourself, they will be fast as much player killing in a english speaking server.

"Killing bluesuit - honorable!" "Noob should stay in hell!" "Ganking became better, ganking is more fun"
Now that's an attitude I strongly disagree with. I don't know what was the context, but I dont like the sound of it. Killing beginners whitout equipment when yourself you are a level 25 with APA is for me the uppermost of meaningless.
Whats the main difference between a "noob" and a "harcore" gamer? The amount of time played. That only and nothing else. And at the begining of the game, when the hardcore level 25 was level 5, there wasnt any high level killing everybody in one shot. Cause the longer the games last, the higher the level differences are. So the REAL hardcore, are the one trying the game 4 or 6 days after the beginning of the game or those who just play every two days...

Now don't get me wrong, I am totaly for player killing and looting, and totally for gang war and confrontation. But each time it must be a real risk for the one starting a fight. What thrill can you get if you are sure of winning anyway?
If I had my word to say, I would stop the amount of exp you can put on weapon at level 12 or 14, so that every player (even if he has to suffer coz yeah suffering is good) has a chance to reach the level of equilibrated fight, while the high level would still have the advantages of the perks.
But thats just me I guess.

One thing is sure: I won't play the role of a sheep beeing slaughtered mindlessly. But I am sure the dev will think of something...

Agreed. Most of us should be going around with low end pistols, smgs and shotguns. Laser pistols at a pinch.

I really think all PA variants should be nigh on impossible to find. Combat armour should be something you'd seriously consider selling your first born child for.

The rest of us should be running around in metal armour and leather jackets, taking potshots at each other with our mausers. Hell, that'll also give combat some degree of longevity - something more than going point blank to your opponent and using burst mode on your combat shotgun, praying for a crit.

Ah, but the fact people were so prepared to believe it doesn't bode well.
I think that is called "prejudice", ironically things that people believe in or fear often tend to happen to them =) programming, you know ) Relax, we are still the same people )

btw did you know that when session starts locations contain items that are supposed to be there in original f2 by default? If you are quick enough you can get'em ) it'll be fixed likely though

QFT. I would like to see more uses for grenades (home-made molotov-cocktails by the bucketload, anyone?), traps (imagine trying to invade the Cathedral and find out that the way between YOU and that terminal in the top is laid with alarms, explosives and rigged guns) and home-made stuff with the Fixboy.

This is why "Navarro Raids" exist. A crazie or a bunch of crazies who travel kilometers of deadly desert, bypass Enclave patrols and somehow try to get Advanced Power Armor. I remember The Unity did one Navarro Raid in this test, we found no Advanced Power Armor, but we found a nice Tesla and they gave it to me. It was kinda sad that I died shortly after trying to fight a Wannamingo with a spiked knuckle.

THE RED MENACE IS HERE

But as far as I know, the APAs from Navarro got deleted since the first open test. Also the stuff in the storage room from Vault 15 has been deleted already a long time ago.

I remember some stuff in Redding and in the NCR that could be good for a nice start. But hey, it is there only once and I think, if someone with level 1 managed it to go down all the way, he can take it.

I am sure that someone mentioned either in this thread or another that all the high-tech weapons and armour were put into the game simply to test out whether they worked or not. Considering this, I think they will probably know now that they do in fact work (because everyone had something extremely high-tech at one point) since the only complaints were from people like me trying to get somewhere and being killed by power armored, laser wielding folks. So it is my belief that coming the third beta test things may be more balanced and stable. Of course only time will be able to tell.

i just think this is NOT Fallout....

IMHO.....

i did the same..... because it is difficult to even find
a single gun and effectively/actually killing an opponent....

Its cool this product will become available. Ill never check it out because I get sick of people who just want to camp around ganking people and go beat off at the thought of how badass they must think they are.

i agree ... this is my point of view too....

In encounter "hubbologists fighting mercenaries/press gang" which is not rare at all you could get: flamer mk i and mk ii, laser rifle mk i and mk ii, light support weapon, power fist, ripper and solar scorcher (with endless ammo)... all you needed is to wait till they reduce each other, that's not difficult ))

Even If 10mm jhp would the only ammo you could get in the wastes, talking about release version, I'd still think twice before picking unarmed - burst will tear you apart in close quarters in most cases (of course if your opponent is lucky enough getting smg:)), but packing pistol you have a chance to disable him first, imo.
