Once again thank you all for participation. Best regards.

as one of those 14 years old crazy communists, I agree with slaytanic at certain points as there are the same discussions taking place on our official forum. IMO to roleplay one needs imagination and if you are easily bothered by a couple of deaths maybe the problem's in you? Learn to enjoy it :)
Anyhow, I hope to see all of you guys in the near future building our fonline family together :D

I referred to Ultima...... Not WoW.....
You cannot even read....

You are accusing me of not being able to read ? Well, dear moron, I had already adressed the Ultima issue.

Go play fucking Ultima Online then, or play the game single fucking player.

Fyi I prolly played Ultima more then you, and the reason I liked ultima in the first place was that PKing trammies like you was enjoyable. Depending on where you played I may have killed you in that game aswell.

And Ultima had player ran guilds, so you can most likely make a group in Fonline aswell and enjoy crafting there. But then again, in Ultima players were killed in a similar fashion, unless you played some carebear no pvp freeshard, so don't cry if you are killed here too.

In fact there were many debates where people kept crying about being PKed in Ultima. Which lead to the addition of Trammel... Which killed the game on the official.

You know, I barely read this thread or you would already have a strike, but heck: strike, Slaytanic. Continue on this abusive language line and you will be banned.

Aww... I don't think there's a big enough smiley that can quite handle how sorry I don't feel for you.

I quickly got out of the beta. I was curious as to what all was around, what was available and so forth. I couldn't move at all without getting ganked constantly by someone.

Sorry, to me, thats not fun. In fact, people who are constantly PKing like that are doing a disservice to the guys running the beta in my opinion. Why? Because some people are simply curious, and you cut out any ability to explore that curiosity at the hands of some clown with too much time on his hands so he just sits in one spot and kills people... then people will quickly lose said curiosity and go somewhere else.

I did. Its not that Im against PKing, its not that I cry when I get jumped but there is a definite point in time when it gets old.

I eventually transferred my WoW toons off of a PvP server that I had played on for years. It gets old dealing with kids who think they're tough shit because they and 5 friends can jump you while you're farming. Its stupid and unnecessary. I quickly realized just how much time I was wasting dealing with all that dumb shit and how much I had to work around that dumb shit. When it gets that tedious, its not really an enjoyable game. So yeah, the beta wasn't enjoyable to me so I went and did something else.

Its cool this product will become available. Ill never check it out because I get sick of people who just want to camp around ganking people and go beat off at the thought of how badass they must think they are.

Damn I forgot why I hate visiting these over moderrated, fun for the whole family boards. Not for the likes of me, no no.

Because everyone loves dealing with offensive narrow minded pricks in day to day life.

Damn our society is too overmoderated. Freedom of speech means I can say what I what, when I want and any aspect of decent communication must apply to everyone but me!

Get over yourself. Its one of the best things a person can do to survive in the world.

This is pretty far from a fun for the family board (or, for that matter, "over moderated"). However, childish name-calling it just a sign of a limited mind, and we simply have no need for those. If you are incapable of expressing yourself without slinging insults, I really fail to see how that's anyone's problem but you own

Continue on topic

On the bright side, this is the only substantial complaint I have heard (and share) about the FOnline project: The mindless PKing. I've had my share of Diablo in 1998-9, thanks. The worst thing about the groups (on both sides of the language barrier) who shoot indiscriminately (and take great pride in it over mIRC :/) is that they are essentially killing the player flow, and by extension killing the project.

Have you noticed how the playerbase decreased over the course of the beta, as those groups grew in levels? There needs to be some player quality-control. The question is how to do it. Mind you, I love PVP. But it has to be done in taste - that means letting the newbies grow, staying the fuck away from Hell, and know the difference between PKing and Griefing.

My suggestion: Server application. Or at least, a server targetted specifically at people who think this is Diablo (spare me the "but the wasteland is a harsh place suck it up olololol" because fuck, I know this and did my best to uphold this without killing the enjoyment of other people).

I'm narrow minded? Did you even read my posts? While I don't want any other reasons for me to post or lurk around here since the beta is over, please do explain to me how you came to the conclusion that I am narrow minded from reading my posts. This is my language, this is how I talk to my friends and alot of people around me. I have no problem with people who are easily offended or boards that don't like my kind of behaviour on them, all I do is just stay away from such communities and they stay away from my communities. I tried to restrict myself, if you read my early posts, but sorry, ignorant idiots are ignorant idiots and one shouldn't have to talk nicely to them in my book. I don't think I have to get over myself, since nowhere in my posts did I show any type of pompous attitude.

I have no problem with how you run your boards, I can easily stay away or just lurk. It is just my language and I see no problem in me slinging insults to those who deserve them, but I understand that is my own bussines, and I have absolutely no quarrels with me staying away from such communites that find me narrow minded because of this, and hang around my own limited minded folks. So no worries.

And yes I enjoyed the beta. But that's all it was, a beta, not alot of use to judge the final product yet. I'm just sorry I didn't have more time to take people in and equip them to show them the fun side of things. I learned everything I did the hard way, and english people had a serious handicap compard to russian players also.
In my opinion staying away from pkers and doing relatively fine in the game could be easily accomplished if someone was carefull. I mean, I've seen people who are warned not to go to den because there are pkers there, then they go there anyway, get killed, and then you hear them whining about being Pked and how bad it is.
And to be honest, personally I enjoyed the atmosphere the game has so far. Danger, fear, paranoia, hard choices are all elements that I adore in the online version. It's a hard online rpg, but it's prolly one of the things that make it cool.

Actually they hadn't. I used my knowledge of russian only to get to level 2 completing the den quests. With tagged barter you could easily move further from then on and make level 9 in hour or so (farming centaurs :D). And all that pking... This test was supposed to show how engine really works. The idea is the game will be more about completing quests and the major one will deal with ending game session and starting a new one. They call it not mmorpg but coop rpg because of that, not only because they hate wow.. ))

That's what I didn't understand. It was so much easier to gain XP from killing centaurs/aliens/etc west of Reno and to gain money by circling the Den or Reno that PKing was largely a waste of time.

I'm glad to hear there will be a greater emphasis on quests and a session ending event in the final release ... is there any word on perhaps reducing the amount of good stuff you can farm from random encounters and/or reducing the high tech weapons in traders inventories?

The way you could earn money so easily and get almost whatever weapon type/ammo you wanted too was a little out of balance in my opinion.

I think stores should offer less. It was pretty silly that you could find virtually any item in every store.

It should be changed so that the rarer things like Pulse rifles, vindicators, avengers, Imp. flamers, Combat armors, etc be part of either the supply shipments, or randomized loot drops.

It was just for testing the items. In first test traders have had nothing to offer. ;)

Thats good too then. Hard to tell what was just for the test and what is for the final game.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that most things will only be made (or won in quests) rather than bought, leaving only the basic ingredients for the majority of the traders.

My first proper character was specialized in repairing, but I quickly ran out of useful things to make. Basically the only use was to produce Leather Armour MkII, but I could see that system has great potential.
