Game Revolution previews Fallout 3

Anyone notice the stat explanation in the pipboy for agility?

"Agility affects your Small Guns and Sneak skills, and the number of Action Points available for V.A.T.S."

Vs the original...

"Coordination and the ability to move well. A high agility is important for any active character.

Modifies: Action points, armor class, sequence, and many skills."

Bethesda rips the soul out of everything...

Wanna bet Beth (ha ha!) told them to hint at something like that just to shut up a little the fan outrage?
As pointed out, though, even if you can get the camera as far as to simulate iso-metric viewpoint it doesn't mean it will feel like the old games without the mouse control.
Plus, the stupid combat system remains. And it seems more and more stupid with each new detail revealed about it.

So, no dear Bethesda, you might fool the blabbering morons that are your fan base, but there are people who actually think. Too bad, isn't it?

What do we have so far? We have first-person, with the possibility to go third-person, we have real-time with the possibility to go in pause mode, we have Stuplivion dialogues with the possibility to... well... to just take it up the ass like it is, because Bethesda is not able to do something else.
OR, we have the possibility to not accept this piece of crap and not fall for their lies.

"Cannon-wielding Behemoths" as in Tactics' cannon-wielding behemots? Or are they coming up with new terminology for Super Mutants?
It is a new type of super mutant that Bethesda has invented.

Blargh!

I really wish they would quit it with the Resident Evil 4 stuff. I already own it on Gamecube, and I could easily pick it up for PC and Wii, I love the game, BUT RESIDENT EVIL IS NOT FALLOUT. When are they going to learn this?

Interesting, the article has just disappeared from Game Revolution's website, even though a link to it still features prominently on their front-page.

That makes sense. Because GameInformer's exclusivity deal doesn't stop until this Monday, when Official Playstation Magazine rotates in their article. Big whoops by Game Revolution, it shouldn't have been online yet, just like the Finnish magazine Pelaaja went into rotation too early.

They'll remove it from their frontpage too. Or I'm wrong and it'll be back

Ja. I'm glad, but not surprised, to see that such professional operations as Game Revolution are given preferential treatment by Bethesda, while long established fan communities (whose staff can more than adequately keep track of dates) are kept in a state of informational lockout.

We are all thankful that Bethesda has gone to the lengths to hire a Community Manager, I'm sure we all appreciate all his hard work. Who knows what the relationship between those same communities and Bethesda might be like if he didn't end up doing anything at all concerning them, and Bethesda continued to treat those establishments with near-open disdain?

 Bethesda, this is really what I have expected from you.
Actually my theory, that those who have developed the last silly TES games and now are making Fallout3 are retards, got verified.

They are breaking Fallouts style in many ways and that just because they could not understand Fallout.

Each new article about it pains my brain and heart.

I hope they will fail terribly, though games with much publicity always sold well. . .
The game will sell mostly only because of its name and marketing. And this is really really sad imo.

At least Bethesda won't live forever

Nothing new in there. Disappointments inclusive. Most of my thoughts were effectively channeled through the others, so I wouldn't waste more bytes to it.

I'm not reading what you're reading, Sander, that's not a definitive description that reads "VATS depletes action points with time," especially not since GI was so specific on shooting stopping regeneration of action points.

The real news here is;
Bird's eye view/isometric-esque is available.

VATS can only be interpreted as cuing actions, which is standard RTwP. Innovative my ass.
QFT...

Remember the imaginary gamepad in todd's hands? He must have went dream with his 360 and his guitar hero...

Actually, Game Informer's exclusivity deal only lasts til the end of today. Their period was for all of June, so gaming sites will be allowed to post tomorrow, July 1, and then you'll see more print media on monday and later next week when it's released.

Nah...common sense. The Game Revolution main page says they can't post about Fallout 3 til tomorrow. Game Informer releases a monthly magazine. It's now the last day of the month. Hence exclusivity deal ends after today.

Ah, didn't see that note on Game Revolution's frontpage. Tomorrow it is, then.

I assumed Monday because that's when OPM goes into revolutions. 'right then

PS: DaC exclusive?

EDIT : Did anybody see the screenshot with the pip-boy up close? Those stats are really low. They want to "innovate" the stat points number too?
7 points short. Either a demo 'mock up' or SPECIAL is totally gutted.

Eh, I kind of have to disagree with that. In Fallout 2 it was way, way too easy to get a super character even at a low level, and then use things like power armors advanced strength, the medical enhancements, and various other methods to basically make yourself a superman. If this is an attempt to make the game slightly more difficult by giving you less starting power then it might be a good move. It could still be an awful move as well, but I don't think it's nesscessarily gutting the system. Unbalancing it, sure, but that depends on whether you think the original system was perfectly balanced. I'm not reay to string them up for 7 stat points.

As for the camera thing, it immediately struck me as looking like Crackdown, which is very, very bad. It looks unfortunate that the way the game is shaping up, first person and real time will be the BETTER of the options included. :(

I disagree. I always liked the Fallout character creation system and how it allowed to create a decent character.
