Gameplayer Fallout 3 week

Scratch that, it is just this old article from 360, released in March

You mean they plain ripped that article off? Wow, these guys just might beat Limbo of the Lost on the "stealing shit" category.

And what an impressive load of shit it is. This guy (whoever it is or might originally have been) is able to write two entire paragraphs of pseudo-philosophical tripe about change yet fail to realize the monstrous non-sequitur in his pitiful "change is inevitable, therefore all change is good" argument. Makes you wonder how thrilled he would be if he were to suddenly change into an unemployed homeless person.

Well, that explains why it all felt so recycled. Thing is, I got the same vibe from the P3Zine article and a bunch of other stuff, so I figured these writers have simply all taken the same course in eradicating their personal voice and replacing it with press release excerpts, PR blurbs and preapproved sound bites.

Yeah, taking the easy road.

Yeah, taking the easy road.

Rehashing old articles is a somewhat extremely easy road, tho'

Hopefully they'll have something new at some point.

I do get a bit sick of being reffered to as a blank eyed frothing at the mouth psychotic but these are the consequences of joining a cult I guess. Maybe one day I toocan give up on understanding and appreciating fallout's interesting and layered history, probably has something to do with painting shit on my nose...

I have a somewhat alternate theory, demonstrated in a mock email exchange (latest at top):

Hey, here's the new article I need you to put out. I've done you the favor of already substituting instances of the last mag's name with yours. Feel free to include some extra praise of Bethesda or myself if you want, just make sure its canon material.

Muahahaha!!!

Episode 2 beginning is fucking hillarious!

We’re betting a rather large chunk of you haven’t played Fallout before. It did come out over a decade ago… and two generations of home consoles ago… and even then, only on the PC. Those of you who have played it are no doubt avid fans, as it was hard not to be impressed with this influential series.
ROFL! Two generations of consoles ago... Only on PC... I'm feeling old, guys. How old is this Chris Stead?
Once you’re done, don’t forget to see our huge Episode 1 in Fallout week, where we talk to Tim Howard about how they have approached the series.
Who the fuck is Tim Howard? =)

I don't know, but it is not the first time they give the exclusives to somewhat unprofessional journalists only because they would praise their game. Cool PR stunts, Bethesda. Tim Howard, we love you!

Of course, in a few hours Behesda's staff will read my message (I know, you will, guys) and they will fix it. But, damn, it is so unprofessional. But I'm a rabid fan, they don't actually give a flying fuck about my opinion.

Integrity Not Included

The primeval format for the web page may origin from under the rocks of the print era.
Include the evolutions of the newspaper, and then focus more on the full color glossy magazines,
for only those reflective inks can rival the luminance of the analogue / digital screen.

After that, comparisons fade into the Boom Town, bubble dance of 'irrational exuberance'. Teasing to hook, hooking to fillet.

I apologize before hand for the coming link, because it is a commercially saturated Web 2.0 screen.
ZDNet has had a hook on my e-mail for some of the short text filler between the ads has a redeeming skepticism of the machinations of Microsoft, Apple, Symantec, et al the usual suspects.

[Be sure to scan some of the comments about copy-write and fair use. True web info-fun.]

T.F.'s text topic domain encompasses professional courtesy,
basic intellectual property acknowledgement to a writer's sources.
And, reading the comments, this thread branches out to covering your ass so no charge of lying or plagiarism explodes in one's 2.0 face.

This might be T. Foremski's text image of interest:
... media production in a world where spiders harvesting content and displaying Google adsense next to it are the prime business model for media and which cannot support the production of real journalism. ...

"Real journalism" is not cost effective in this media age. No red or blue pill required , say it enough and WILL be true.
Can't afford this 'assurance of quality', that's the mercantile ace that is always flung in our collective consumer faces.
Must misrepresent-ate to make the profit.
Hired scribblers become hired liars.

Briosafreak:
... Yeah, taking the easy road.
It's the continuation of the 360 magazine article... crazy.

Brother None:
... Rehashing old articles is a somewhat extremely easy road, tho'

Hopefully they'll have something new at some point.

Killzig:
lol, did they just cut and paste the time line from the Fallout wiki?

Briosa', BN, and Bre'r K. ya' all are most kind with that phrasing, leaving the back door open for redemption.

Perhaps it's only a wham bam thank you ma'm, - cut and paste - advertising text ---> hack and slash.

Perhaps the work integrity does not leech into personal life's moral issues.

Perhaps the preachy points of this little lecture might apply to me as anyone else.

Dealing daily with liars, cheats, and thieves takes a lot of effort.

I'm most mentally fatigued and wide open to compromise, when I have to spend the day with the seniors of my craft,
for they are are the best at exploiting the union environment.
I was hired off the street and know more about > the job < then most.
But a baby still ...
Still learning to be a work contract 'lawyer' and master of bureaucratic bull sh-t that the administrators / supervisors pile on top of all the fine print.
Karma, in my misspent youth took a sociology class in 'Industrial Sociology' and read comparative studies of functional and dysfunctional work places.
Karma, ""this morning I couldn't spell *featherbedding*, but today, I 'R' one.""

Mores verses morals.

More of real life's scintillating choices. The dueling duality of 'jerk' or 'assh-le'.
Yes, the grasped stick that's got sh-t on both ends, and that's the win-win pick!

Not surprised to have to negotiate the 'cults of agreement'?
Should not be surprised by the agreement system among advertisement copy writers,
and perhaps it's as much about time and personal energy, as it might be about defacto conspiracies.

No time, no energy, no 'press era' editor in chief, no itch of integrity to scratch.
Integrity, as we might pose it, some obsolete one-two(?) dimensional abstraction of truth, is not in the job description.

Guess the better attitude, the one that refrains from hands in compost, is just to be street wise.

One of the basic consumer warnings of the former century was: ""Batteries Not Included"".

When perusing the text of advertisement copy write, ground the expectations to, ""Integrity Not Included"".

Enjoy the fiction for what it is.

No, it's the Fallout Bible 0 version, without even the updates from later FOBs.
