Games from your childhood

Games from my childhood? Lets see... There's Paper Mario 64, which was the game that began my love of gaming. There was also the Pokemon games, The Legend of Zelda, Kirby, Mario Party 2 (The best Mario Party) oh, and Mario Kart. God, all the fights me and my brothers would get into because of Mario Kart. When I would win, my little brother would turn the game off before the game declared me the winner. He was such a sore loser.

Countless amounts like Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, TMNT(NES video game), Doom, Final Fantasy VII, some of the Pokemon games like Pokemon Yellow and Blue, Turok, Mario Kart, Zelda Majora's Mask, Pokemon Stadium, Donkey Kong Country, Spyro, Wolfenstein 3D, and some others that I can't think of right now.

I also played a lot on the NES a game called Load Runner, this game was great and quite strategic, also tested the reflexes too. But the best feature was that it came with a damn level creator (yes, a NES game that came with a level creator). Me and my friends would make levels and play on them together.

Another great game to play with friends was for the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) called Desert Demolition. Just going by the name you would think it was some action game or something, but it was a game about Road Runner and Willy E. Coyote. It allowed to play with one or the other and the objectives were catching the Road Runner or escape the Coyote. It was a short game, a player could beat it in less than 30 minutes and playing alone wasn't as fun, but with friends it would make for some laughs (specially if playing as the coyote).

I enjoyed playing another Mega Drive game called Spider-man and Venom: Separation anxiety. We could play with Spiderman or Venom (of course) and it was a sidescroller brawler. We could collect hero tokens and then call them during the game to help clear the enemies on the screen (I remember Captain America, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye and Daredevil).

Another Mega Drive game series I played that was sidescroll brawler was the Street of Rage games (I mainly played the first and second ones).
Those sidescroll brawler games (Streets of Rage and Separation Anxiety) were good to play when you have another person there with you since they could be played by 2 players at once.

Oh man, Lode Runner. I remember having Lode Runner: The Legend Returns (or was it Lode Runner: On-Line?) from some game compilation pack (also included were King's Quest 7 and Test Drive: Offroad). Great game, gotta dig it out again some time.

Some of the childhood games I played (that weren't that great or were very flawed) include Castlevania 64, Shaq Fu, Duke Nukem (the horrible PSX port), Mario Clash for the Virtual Boy, the Super Scope game, Bubsy 2, and that awful Mission Impossible game for the N64.

Beware before gazing upon the games your family buys on a whim without consulting you.

The PSONE Harry Potter games where those games that I was very into as a child that weren't all that good. My first console was the PSone so that also played a big part in me just eating up every game with a recognizable brand that I could get.

Oh yeah and the tie in game for PSX to Phantom Menace. It was so buggy I could barely beat it without it crashing.

SHAQ FU!
That game was so damn horrible... Worst fighting game I ever played on Mega Drive (Genesis). Really... I still hate it.
But that reminded me of a great and hard (at least for me) figthng game also for the Mega Drive:
Dragon - The Bruce Lee Story

I loved this game. Aaaaaah Oooooo!

The Harry Potter games on the PSONE weren't that buggy, at least I don't remember them being so, but I was like 10-11 so who knows, I might just not have any point of reference. My child brain liked that it had a predictable gameplay pattern, the second game is basically the same as the firs with some visual improvements, I 100% both of them. Kid me was a fucking nerd. Then I discovered Crash Bandiccot Warped and Spyro.
