Gamestop pre-order goodies confirmed

As we reported earlier, Gamestop has some goodies to add for preorders of Fallout 3. Matt Grandstaff gives some details.
I’ve received several emails from fans inquiring whether or not GameStop is providing a Fallout 3 CD with pre-orders for the game. The answer? Yes, yes we are. With a pre-order of the game, fans are given a 5-track disc with “featured selections” from the soundtrack, along with a Brotherhood of Steel poster.

GameStop should have started receiving their stock of this pre-order giveaway late last week, so if your local GameStop doesn’t have them yet, they’ll probably have them in a few days. I’d venture to guess that GameStop’s website will show the offer sometime soon.

We included the front and back sleeve designs for the soundtrack — to get a better look, click on the images to enlarge them. Below is the back sleeve design for the disc. You can see it includes three songs licensed from the 1940’s, as well as two tracks from the game’s composer, Inon Zur.

wow so a CD that holds as much as an LP and looks like a 45

Sounds like your struggling to find something to hate on.

maybe ... but if i really wanted to point out something it would be that 5 tracks is rather weak and would have loved either a full on vintage tracks cd or a full soundtrack.

but thats just my opinion and i'm feeling bitter i guess so i did hate on them :D

also despite the fauxiness i digg the graphics.

It's a pre-order bonus. Usually you only get a T-shirt or a poster, this is better than most of the pre-order bonuses GameStop gives out in my opinion.

It'd be more interested in what the poster looks like. Most likely (If it works like Morrowind and Oblivion) the game's soundtrack will be in .mp3s, so a mini-soundtrack ahead of time is no big deal to me. A neat looking Fallout poster though...

"In economics, dollar voting is an analogy used to explain how the purchasing choices of consumers affect which products will continue to be produced and supplied to the market. Every dollar paid for a particular product may be considered a "dollar vote" for that product, such that the products with the largest number of dollar votes generate the most profit and will therefore continue to be produced. A boycott would be a vote against a product."

Let's vote against Fallout 3.

I'm curious, how many people here will actually buy Fallout 3?
No talk about illegal download please.

I'm assuming I'll get a review copy.

Lollerskates.

Gstaff says it's a BoS poster, I would guess it's the same picture you see on the game cover, enlarged. Try asking on the BethBlog.

But if you want neat looking Fallout posters, just go here.

I don't plan on buying it, personally. I guess this is decent for a pre-order bonus, but it's not something that would be useful to me, assuming I did want to buy the game.

The next survey (or the survey at the time of FO3 release) could be about this. It would be interesting.

Why download it when you can surely play it at a friends' house?

RPS tackles the issue!

Hello significant American proportion of our readership. It turns out, if you pre-order Fallout 3 from “Gamestop”, whatever that is, you’ll get a soundtrack CD thrown in. (And a poster. For people who are students. Or not planning to get married).

I most likely will. I'm not really locked in either direction until I hear some previews with more solid substance and/or some reviews, but I'm leaning towards buy.

Yeah, if it's just that BoS picture I wouldn't be too thrilled. It's ok, but not special enough to make me wanna preorder. Though if I do preorder it'll be after I'm more solidly convinced, anyway.

Just got back with mine - the poster is the box-cover as shown, but big. Unfortunately, it's folded up in the DVD box.

The tracks on the CD are truly amazing. I have absolutely no idea how Butcher Pete got released in the 40's ... it's raunchy as hell.

THIS FREE ITEM DOES NOT LIVE UP TO MY EXPECTATIONS

If you were already planning on buying the game, it's free. The $5-10 you put down for the preorder and goodies knocks $5-10 off the game when you pick it up.
