What I said is very simple and clear for anyone to understand. A cheapo bus that burns like a torch isn't safe.
And what I said was apparently not so clear to understand for anyone with a single digit IQ like you. You don't actually know if it was a cheapo bus. So how about a warm cup of STFU before you try and see WHITE-SUPREMACIST-CAPITALIST-PATRIARCHYeverywhere?

I've been on NMA for 6+ years and MutantScalper is the first poster to be so near the event horizon that is called the ignore button. And I've lived through Virgil's bullshit with ease.
The only reason I haven't done is because it's a form of safe space, and fuck safe space.

Safer transportation is legitemately a big issue in the world.

1,25 million every year. So it's not like a perfect system.
Maybe it's the humans behind the wheel that cause most of those.
When driveless cars will become common, maybe those numbers will decrease.

*Makes plans to hack those cars and start blackmailing passengers into paying a lot of money to be able to stop the car*

It is like that already. In Aussieland the 'Roos are messing up the driverless cars. They need to set up like those Aliens-style motion detector machine gun turrets on those cars in Oz, and elsewhere. Don't even need a human passenger at that point. Just fill the streets with those and let Carmageddon ensue. And that's all you need for the whole dystopian Terminator/Mad Max/Fallout - type future to unfold.

Well, that article already has the solution for that problem:
Volvo's safety engineers began filming kangaroos' roadside behaviour in a nationally recognised hotspot for collisions in 2015.

And the data is being used to create a system of radar and cameras that can detect kangaroos and apply the brakes if a collision is imminent.

Volvo has an ambitious target that no-one is killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020.

17.4 in every 100,000. That's pretty good already. In Germany that number goes down to less than 5, btw., and we still have no speed limit in many parts of our highway system.
But yeah, road safety is a huge thing. New coaches in Germany actually have to have automated braking systems, just like trucks, among a plethora of other assistance and safety features. I'm a bit sceptical when it comes to autonomous driving, though. Cars, like other IoT devices, are notoriously unsafe when it comes to connection, and hacking will become a huge issue once this becomes widespread. Also, some people like to drive on their own and at their own pace. Problem is that once autonomous cars become widespread, insurance companies will force you to use those by adding HUGE premiums on driving for yourself. And governments will LOVE being able to stop your car really easily. Oh yeah, all the secret services will want backdoors to your fancy self-driving car, of course, because terrorism and so on.
Purely autonomous cars that do not allow the "driver" to do anything will take a huge amount of freedom away from the people. Not to mention that they'll be an even better tool for surveillance than our current cars.

I'm just replying to the first comment, and it sounds like anything goes, so:

Fallout 4 was an inside job.

New Vegas won the popular vote but lost the election.

The Enclave did nothing wrong.

Don't be a bigot, educate yourself. The Church of Atom is a religion of peace.

Your reaction to this post is fake news.

"Pretty good" is a bit relative though, and not really that objective in the end. With much much more motorized traffic around the world, the number of motor accidents is steadily rising. Safety aspects of road traffic are a huge issue and factor and something that has to be taken into constant attention and improvement by the global community.

In Germany all you have to do is look to the east and you'll see nations with very spotty road safety records. Many of the eastern European drivers are barreling into Germany in growing numbers.

People might be safer if they didn't drive drunk all the fucking time.

Drunk driving a big issue over here, and increasingly drugged driving. Even if the cops take away the licence and car of an offender, they somehow get their hands on a new car they then get busted with again. Some have dozens of offences like this. One issue is that cars are really really cheap. I've seen some really crappy looking cars around, just cruising along. They can be driven until the cops catch them, and they most likely won't pass car safety inspection. And the driver might be drunk/drugged.

And then they try to outrun the cops. Sigh. What are these people thinking.

Here's Estonian police stopping one outrunner. Pretty sketchy stuff.

Now for something totally different.

Looking back at those, it's pretty impressive how much they have improved. Also those phones.... 2008? holy shit, time really does fly.

I am tempted to watch the series, but my attention span is shit these days. I need to track down Dragonball Super.
