General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Could you elaborate?
Mostly stuff on the GTA V thread on GTAForums. Fanboys mostly defend V using vague statements like "it has amazing gameplay" and "Trevor's filled with character", and tend to act as if their personal opinion is fact. Kinda similar to how Bethesda fanboys use vague statements like "The game is immersive".

I've also noticed some use the argument that plot isn't worth as much as gameplay so plot development should take a backseat during the games' creation. Personally I think both should go hand in hand honestly. For example, this is the response one user gave when another said that a game should focus on it's proper gameplay elements rather than throwing everything it physically could in blender style:

"I would rather get it all in one, huge, varied, and wild story! I mean, I am paying you $59.99, for Christsakes."

"It laid it all out in a gorgeous, stunning, varied tapestry that I can easily get lost in to this day and probably for years to come. The best thing I can say about GTA IV is, "Yeah, I played that. Now I am done."

Trying out 0AD, which is built upon the age of mythology engine (sort of), but without the mythology :D. Although it's still in alpha stage (even after many years), but it's pretty impressive for an unpaid, fully open source project.

Darle Souls:SOTFS... On PC! Can't get enough of those constant ultra 60FPS.
At the same time, both DS 1 & 3 work on minimal at 30 unstable

Tried playing Deus Ex recently. Got stuck in the marines base and after countless attempts, I just gave up.

Team Fortress 2, because i love hats

Fact of the day: Engie got 11 PhDs
I remember going onto a server pissing off a whole bunch of people on the other team by camping out near their spawn as a team mostly composed of engies. They were on mics and voiced their frustrations of course

You should try it with GMDX, the game is much better with it as there are things like mantling and other improvements but still stays true to the gameplay design of the game.

I'm so damn tempted to try it. But I don't want to spoil the game.

Yeah, as well. I'm just checking the general direction of the game, if I might have some comments to throw at Larian. Not going to spoil the opening hours for myself by overplaying it like I did with the betas of the first D:OS and Wasteland 2 (lesson learned there).

In case anyone was curious, this is what my borders finally looked like once the game ended.

Are you able to change the resolution and other things like the other emulators you can get for emulating other systems or does it stretch out across the screen?
It stretches. I'm using VisualBoy Advance. I'm a total nooblet, though, so maybe it could also enhance resolution. I really don't know.

How in the lords holy name has Spain nearly taken over France? Like, France becomes an imperial superpower in the first 5 seconds of gameplay.
I have no clue man. Burgundy and Spain just tore it to shreds at both ends. Burgundy was also a lot bigger too before I crushed it because it had Deutsche clay (and unfortunate allies) Speaking of which the main thing I'm proud about that game is that I had every Germanic culture province under my borders.
