General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I always have fun putting together computer parts but I'm into nerdy stuff naturally.:P

I found it boring about half way through my first time playing it, just a shitty version of SS and SS2 but of course Ken Levine is a hack so there's that. There's new short missions?

I don't mind it so much but for some reason i hate to fiddle with small things such as those cables and i just didn't feel like it and it has been laying on the table behind me for way to long now.

Yeah the new challenges are quite interessting. 1 is starting with no weapon and no harmfull plasmis and your mission is to pretty much solve puzzles and kill a big daddy.
Another one is several different rooms with different enemies.
The third one is like the first one but a bit longer/better.

Edit: Done with Soma now. Great game if you look at the story/world but the AI is rather dumb and repetitive. Keep in mind the hide from monster genre is not my kind of thing tbh.

SOMA made me think too much about my existence and what's next, or rather what isn't next. Freaked me out for a while.

Some people don't like the WAU or the monsters, but I actually liked the way they fit into the whole story. They can be annoying, but once you learn their quirks it's not so bad. Plus it's refreshing to see an AI that actually behaves like a machine, rather than having a SHODAN moment.

Currently playing New Vegas, creating a companion that actually does more than just blindly follow. The GECK is a pain the arse, had to download several fixes before it could tell me what bit of code wasn't working.

I'm playing supertuxkart, it's kind of inspired by mario kart, but fully open source, free and all the characters are linux, bsd etc. mascots. A bit rough around the edges, but the mechanics of picking up items like bombs, balls, other perks and drifting to get better acceleration makes it pretty fun and competitive even against the cpu.

Trying to get the last achievements done in Bioshock 2 rem but not sure if i CBA. Also been regretting buying the season pass for Rise of the tomb raider untill i saw that they are giving away several dlc's to everyone who have the pass!. .And i was missing 100% of the DLC's they are giving away so it feels kinda worth it now.

Once i'm done with my last 3 games i will formate my computer and put in the new parts. Been waiting way to long for this.

Id decided to play deus ex iw again and boy oh boy is it bad. The shooting mechanics are dreadful. The sneaking is atrocius. I maxed out my augmentations within 6 hours. No skills. Universal ammo. Exploration feels pointless. Awful inventory system. Only 6 augs. Story was bland and uninteresting. And it just simply looks like arse.

So i decided to move on to bioshock infinite. 2 weapon carry limit. Massive amount of tiny loot which never feels rewarding. And it has no atmosphere really. Just shooting shit. And i fail to see why there is so much porn of Elizabeth. She just looks like a creepy doll to me.

I remember when some of the PC gamers were bitching about the two weapon limit(before I tried the game) and the responses they were getting responses along the lines of "it's because it's more challenging". I thought that was bullshit because for one if they wanted to make a challenge they could of limited the amount of ammo you could collect depending on difficulty then try to add a strategy to all the weapons and in the process allow you to have all the weapons you could obtain. Oh yeah and the fucking robot bullet sponges were the worst especially in the end of the game which in my opinion was the worst part because it became the apocalypse of the bullet spongy robots.

The shooting was absolutely clunky and boring, all you had to do was aim one of the two weapons you had picked and then shoot at the moving thing like a twitch shooter which is exactly what this turd was. Sure you had the fire people and the big guys with the monkey arms but it was all the same and based on the same damage per second bullshit.

The real reason is they don't like to manage ammo drops, weapon balance, and level design.

The "robots" has a weakspot. Also DPS? A headshoot or 2 with the carbine/magnum is enough for me! I don't mind weapon limmitations and the only game it bothrered me in was Duke Nukem forever.
That said i'm starting to disslike Bioshock right now.. 1 is kinda boring besides the story/setting. 2 is ok but it feels like they are raining ammo and cash on you, not to mention the buggy remastered version.
Infinite was fun the first 2 times now i have 0 urge to play it.

Edit: Layers of fear was quite good. Now doing the DLC that at least so far is not so good. Then i got all the missed achievements left.

Yeah but that weakspot can be a pain in the ass to get to especially if you have to fight two of them from a distance with some other enemies around you as those weapons of theirs tear you to shreads, I like to use cover to my advantage and avoid getting torn apart. I know that you have the human enemies that go down with headshots but I was more gearing the dps shit to the handymen, robots, etc. It's been a long while since I played it so you'll have to excuse me if I don't remember everything about that forgettable game.

Been playing the shit out of Bloodborne, but I'm trying not to get burnt out, so I alternate between Sunless Sea too. Perfect rainy day Halloween activities.

Super Metroid. The grappling beam (like the Castlevania whip) not releasing instantly speaks it all

Divinity: Original Sin, in wait of the sequel.

Thinking of picking up Shadow Warrior 2. It looks like some mindless fun. It's been a while since I played an fps and I think I need to scratch that itch.

Such a good game though.

Divinity: Original Sin is really, really good. The story isn't that great but I hear that has been greatly improved in the newest one.

It's fantastic. I don't play it for the story, but it's alright. I think they paced it pretty well and managed to get some mystery in there that has you curious in investigating further. It's shock full of clichés, but what fantasy rpg isn't? It's certainly not holding your hand, although they did streamline it quite a bit with the EE. But yes, D:OS 2 is looking to be a huge step up in the writing department.

Only thing bothering me is the damn annoying inventory management. Not only is it a huge timesink, but it makes the otherwise fun and interesting crafting system that much more tedious.

Agreed with the crafting. It was a bit of a chore. Loot was kind of borked but I didn't play the EE so I don't know if they fixed it.
