General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Company of heroes came with my new video card. I had to download four patches (2GB combined) to bring it to the latest version. Took more than two hours to download and install them.
I managed to finish the tutorial and now I'm gonna hit the sack. Looks like a decent game so far.

diabl2 with a great modification: Chaos Empire

Coincidentally, i am also playing modded D2, only i'm running Median, which is, believe me, a far, far superior mod. :p

Seriously, it's fucking sweet, not to mention, hard. I thoroughly recommend it.

thank you, ill give it a try. since chaos empire runs on /players 13 and has those nasty diablo1 monsters in it, i like the idea of "hard".

is it possile to run several mods without losing savegames? ah doesnt matter, ill zip them. my amazone is a5 nm, the armymancer begins to suck a5 norm

Granted, it's easier than some mods (Chaos Empire included) on lower levels, but the difficulty picks up the longer you play (especially with the 'Hard Mode Charm' and when you're attempting to do the Attribute and Character Level challenges). Some of the 'Uber-Quests' are insanely hard.

It's really worth giving this mod a try, it's very well done and polished up, unlike 95% of the other D2 mods.

yay finally a mod where the armymancer seems to NOT suck

i love that kind of playing. my first try was an amazon, ive always played them in vanilla lod. but necro looks promising.

figures... my main in wow is/was a warlock. i raided bt with felguard spec and wasnt far behind my fellow destro specced colleagues. well i went destro then for pure egoistical reasons (fire = big penis personal dps yay). i LOVE playing with minions. sadly, i only play occasionally right now - farming t6 becomes kinda boring. especially since i blew all my dkp in another guild and with another char (heal paladin).

so its back to dia2. and this mods is less funky than the ce mod, but the balancing is great, and i love the AI.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with the Oblivion Lost 2.0 mod. It's more fun than the original, especially since the highest difficulty is actually hard now.

Myeah. I'm starting to find the hardest setting annoying, to say the least. Killer anomalies spawning in area checkpoints/transition areas, an obscene number of mutants, and no ammo.

Every frikkin' mission is an impossible chore.

Yeah, they kinda overdid the difficulty. I play on 'elite' and the medkits are too rare. Other than that, seems good so far. I love the blowouts. Moving anomalies are also a great idea.

I was getting pissed at the tediousness of reloading at the beginning of the game, but after rushing towards the zone for some better weapons and armor, I find the game a lot more enjoyable(Yet still hard).

At the Freedom/Duty map(With the abandoned town), I grenaded all the zone troopers and rummaged through all of their sexy items. That's what you sum' bitches get for sitting around a camp fire!

Yeah, still. Even on lower than "hell" difficulty ratings, it's pretty much impossible to finish a mission properly.

The "wipe out bloodsucker village", one of the hardest and scariest missions in the vanilla game is now pretty much impossible to finish. Bloodsuckers tear you up in a matter of milliseconds, they appear out of nowhere, and you've got Dwarfs and this other new invincible quadruped mutant all over the damn place.

Yeah, it does get pretty bad when you unload an entire assault rifle magazine into a bloodsucker from 3 meters away and it still ends up killing you.
I like the fact that grenades are the most deadly weapon now. Finally, a game where it is more useful to use the grenades than to sell them.

Removing the F from Timeshift makes it's title a million times more apt.

Also playing Chess with my cousin.

Am only five minutes away from calling Nuclear Chess and smashing the board with fury.

Been playing a lot of TF2, but it's starting to suck.

2 reasons:

1. There's pyros EVERYWHERE. It's fucking horrible. I joined a team today with 5 pyros, 4 medics and 2 snipers defending goldrush.

2. I wanna be the pyro! It's been my favorite class for a long time but all these bastards have been hogging all the pyro ever since the update. Gorram idiots. :x

Maybe I'll try to finish Deus Ex until this mess quiets down a bit...

been OBSESSIVELY playing fo2 with killap's new restoration pack, really fucking brilliant shit, fyi.

also dicking around with Ass-Ass Creed every now and again (i.e. if drunk enough) and am about 1/3 the way through MOTB, which has been put on hold due to killap.

1 extra minute of fallout is usually more important than a year's worth of anything else. sad but true.

I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed !
although all your objectives are basically the same, the cities and the game feel so alive that it just makes me wanna hang around in the city and find some templars to kill !

I've been playing Call of Duty 4 multiplayer obsessively again. It's really satisfying walking into a server full of twitch kiddies and kicking all their asses oldschool,

Ultima 7. I usually said "fuck you" to this game and only beat it once like a trillion years ago.

It's not actually as bad as I used to call it. In fact it's great. Still not Ultima 6, but I have no clue why I was so harsh towards it.
