General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942. It's a fairly good tank simulator. They are very rare these days (practically non-existant), so it automatically wins.

Is Neverwinter Nights 2/expansions a lot better than the first one? I got tired of it quickly, it just felt like such a downgrade compared to Baldur's Gate 2.

Yeah, it's quite diffrent, less "epic". Lots of places to finds, lots of dialogue and quests. You should try it, though I can't guarantee you'll like it.

*EDIT* in case you decide to try it, don't forget to make an intelligent Ranger or Druid with lots of skill points, you'll need them for skills like survival, hide, search or spot - they are of major use on the overland map. On the other hand, there are two cohorts in the first city with these classes, but it's your choice.

Fallout. I'll be trying Jagged Alliance (1 or 2, which one I find first) sometime soon.

be sure to use the 1.13 patch for 2

I'd suggest trying vanilla JA2 first before jumping into the 1.13 patch. It'll make the upgrade that much sweeter. Also, I think you can buy JA2 on gog.com for like, $10 I think.

Thanks. I have never played the games before, so I've got no idea what I'm going in for. Someone suggested that I should try the two games, as they're supposedly good.

Yeah, they're both good, but you might have a hard time getting into the original JA. It just looks really old.

JA2 is awesome, though. I'd start toying around with that one if I were you.

Yeah JA1 does look quite dated.

JA2 on the other hand looks quite similar to Fallout 1 (only judging from looks and the UI etc), so that's a positive.

JA2 is great.

If you want to brave it, and can find it, snag Wildfire for JA2. It adds a hell of a lot more challenge (by that, I mean, at times it's downright unfair) but it's rather buggy. A lot of fun though.

After you get through JA2, I also recommend the Urban Chaos mod. Lots and lots of stuff to do in there.

Finished Arx Fatalis, was very refreshing. There were some funny things though:
- No choices, ever. Not even dialogue choices.
- There are only like 3 side quests
- Your character is funny lookin
- It's cold outside :ugly:

Now playing FOonline and thinking about replaying some of my favs,
-Jedi Outcast
-Grim Fandango
-Crimson Skies
hmmm...

Against my better judgement (I was originally going to wait for a patch), I've spent the last three... wait, it's 4:45 AM... make that four days trying to get this steaming pile of shit (gta4) to work.

It has a nasty memory leak that not only degrades performance the longer you play, but causes all textures to gradually disappear.

Back to oblivion. At least the fans were able to fix that game.

It is pretty good.

I recommend watching the prequel movie (poorly animated as it is) if you're interested in the story. It gives some background to what's going on without spoiling it entirely.
