Ghost's movie timeline/future history

E.T. might work, I would have to think about it.

Tron is basically the same case, would have to think on how it would connect to the rest of the universe.

Mad Max would not work as the premise of the IP is that modern society has collapsed after most of the oil sources had ran dry and nations had gone to war for what remained. (I think)
Unless only Australia and such was affected, becoming some kind of no man's land that is isolated from the rest of the world.

I actually did consider Enemy Mine as it is also a favorite movie of mine. (I later bought the story collection by Barry Longyear that includes this story and two others in the same universe).
But it would also not work because it doesn't fit with what we know of the universe of Alien/Aliens/Alien 3.

Or it would have to take place quite some time after the events of those movies.

I thought of "Sunshine", but then I checked, and their dating of the story is really lame...
It should take longer than 40 years from now, for a whole star to just give up and die :S

That, the sun would first expand in the decades before blowing up.
And NASA/whatever space agency would not select clearly mentally unstable people to fly the most important mission in human history.

And if they did they should have included some kind of AI which at the moment of hearing that the insane crew decides the fate of everyone on Earth and condemns them to death, releases poison gas or killbots and then takes over the mission while sending its command base a message in which it asks whose bright idea it was to select these people for this kind of mission in the first place.

It is almost as if NASA really tried to just prompt an insane and exhilirating adventure to happen out there!
They did the same thing back in 1998, with the meteor about to strike earth. I mean - the irresponsibility of sending a man up there to SIT on a nuke and play cowboy... there must have been hints in his resume!
"Completely bat-shit lunatic. Will sit on explosives and play cowboy."
NASA people going "Hmmm... you know what? Throw him into the mix, YOLO guys!"

How about . . E.T., Tron, Mad Max? And you MUST add "Enemy Mine" one of my favorite 80's sci-fi movies.
Not bad.

The Last Starfighter too, or else who will stop Xur and the Kodan Armada?

Could work as a Meanwhile in another part of the galaxy reference but do people think it would work?

I don't know but I honestly can not envision The Last Starfighter taking place in the same universe as the other movies I used for the timeline.
