Great Storyline Games

I forgot to mention Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason, which is an awesome, complete story, married to some really good gameplay and graphics, while sound is a class of its own.

Indeed. Though admittedly the creators are indebted to Maxim Gorky, from whom they lifted a portion of the story (from "The Hot Heart of Danko").

Ill add few old games to the list. Bioforge for its interesting atmosphere, tough the controls are bit pain.
Veil of Darkness, almost classic vampire game place taking place in remote valley in Romania. Have to say I enjoyed it over some other RPGs at that time. Oh yes, figuring out who the werewolf was funny. http://www.mobygames.com/game/veil-of-darkness
Siege of Albion, was basically playing a well written books.
And last Undying, surprised no one mentioned it

PS. Legacy of Kain rules.

I actually thought that this game would re use survival horror clichés such as a virus or a parasite being responsible for the change in the crew until I checked the Wiki entry.

While the zombie stuff is still somewhat cliché it at least adds an action sequence while the player resolves something that has to do with the super natural.

It is rather nice for a change.

lol, some people's comments reminds me on why a lot of imported movies/shows/animes needed to be dubbed, because as the general consensuses go, most publisher assumed that North American hate to read sub titles.

That reminds me, Lunacy and D had interesting stories, and they were cult hits of sorts. You can almost say games like D and Lunacy paved the way for Silent Hill and so on.

I have to agree with they guy who said Eternal Darkness for Gamecube, its got a hell of a story, great game play and decent difficulty rating, though its damn near impossible to find a local copy.

Lucasarts games in general have pretty good writing. Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight is one of my all time favorite games, Along with the Wing Commander series. Long live FMV games.

System Shock 2, who didn't get the creeps from shodan the fist time playing through.

"You move like an insect. You think like an insect. You ARE an insect. There is another who can serve my purpose. Take care not to fall too far out of my favor... patience is not characteristic of a goddess." - Shodan
